(a scream... there's some sort of beast/monster in the shadows... and the girl is now dead with a completely horrified look on her face... *hint* she's somewhere in hell... anyway... sara and raphael, right...)
raphael (turn around and look at sara... who's still sitting on him) : y... you are... j... jibrille...?
sara (look of surprise) : ...... eh? (realized that the "cushion" was a person, and starts to beat up raphael) nooooo--------!! who's under me-----------!
raphael (sweatdrops, looks really annoyed, yell at her) : you're the one sitting on me!
sara (sweatdrop, realization T.T) : eh? (cute face of embarrassment ^^)
raphael (vein) : you're heavy so move.
sara (quickly get up) : ah, s, sorry...

setsuna : what... the hell is this...!! some sort of... medicine?
voice : look at this! this mark... I've seen it...
setsuna : it was on noise's hand...... the mark that clown bastard left...
voice : the demon lord's... mark...!?
text : bai bai... (flashback to when kurai left his room crying)
setsuna : [back then, it had seemed like it was her last moment, those things she said......!] (to voice and arakune) find her...

setsuna : kurai... we must find her! BRING HER HERE NOW!! BRING KURAI! [just exactly what did she do for me, that fool---------]
everyone (searching all over the palace) : kurai-----------!! princess--------- kurai-sama-----------

(he suddenly notices that something's coming at him... and jumps out of the way quick enough. a piece of the altar is hit and breaks off...)
voice (roll up the sleeve on his new arm) : w... who's there!? ... is this your altar? (his new arm is stretchable and he tries to attack this person) you can't kill me, show me who you are!
(suddenly realized that he's caught in a web of threads, all of them cuts through him, his arm which has already grabbed the other person's shirt is now separated from his body. he falls down dying while the other person tends to the slight mark that voice made and rips the hand off his shirt.)
voice (dying in a pool of blood) : ...why. ... ...why? why... (his broken arm falls to the ground and the ring falls off his finger)
kurai (flashback) : [I was saved because you were with me. I'm so grateful that you showed me a miracle.]
text : miracle...? (picks up voice's ring) the true mark of the demon is in a place that cannot be seen.
(the person's shirt is ripped open and shows a demon goat mark in the middle of his chest... arakune is looking down at voice with a cold, cold expression... one hand controlling the threads that comes out of his ring... his own arm and chest is somewhat bloody from getting clawed but it's not serious)
arakune : it's a miracle that he was the only one who survived in the palace? everyone had hoped for a miracle that did not occurred. don't you think that the reason he was the only one left alive was because he was the traitor?

(two kids standing amongst the corpses) our trembling fingers, only we two are left. searching for a place of sanctuary, we held each other's hand so tightly and continued to walk. as if when we stopped and let go, we would be dead. and then, the hand that reached out to us, princess's smile was as if I was saved. that little princess who was so gentle to us low commoners, I just wanted to protect that smile...
noise (kiddy flashback) : [ouch, don't pull my hair, brat!]
voice (twins beating each other up) : [shut up, don't act like you're the older sister when we're the same age.]
text : oh, I had never thought that losing you, breaking my other wing, would hurt this much. noise, the other me.
(somewhere else in gehenna, tears were flowing down noise's cheeks. someone finally informed setsuna...)

raphael : ...i see. that's the best I can do. I suppose it's the aftereffect of the nervous system being numb for a long time. ...and some psychological problems.
sara (seems a little surprised) : ...but I thought you were going to do more examinations and surgery. I didn't think healing was just touching with your hand.
raphael (while washing his hand in hot water) : obviously. how can I, the angel of healing, be like humans and cut you open with some sort of tool. geez, humans are really hopeless primitives. (raphael looks at sara with a more analytical look) [...however there's a needle mark on her neck. seems like I need to ask sevotharte about that sometime.] ...you did say that you are mudou setsuna's sister. the messiah's...
sara : I don't know anything about being messiah, but mudou setsuna is my brother. and my name is sara.
raphael : sara-chan, huh. I see... [but an archangel of jibrille's level couldn't be invaded by the soul of an ordinary girl... which means there's only one explanation. jibrille has turned into a human soul and been reborn...! no wonder there's no sign of a guardian angel. however, if she really is jibrille, why... though she has returned to her original body, her memory does not return?]
sara : hey... setsuna... do you know where he is? why did he appear as a woman back then... what happened to setsuna's real body? (meaning when she saw him on earth)
raphael : that was the messiah's original body. [why...] (lighted a cigarette) I saw on earth that mudou setsuna's body was being protected by a kekkai. with a blade stabbed into his heart, that was-------- [yes, that was...] mudou setsuna's corpse. (he said it so calmly ^^;;)
sara (shock) : you're lying!
raphael : I'm not lying. (lifts her chin) do you want to hear the report from the high council? the messiah's power has awakened in the year 1999 from his sister's death, leading to the destruction of earth, but the time on earth has been stopped by someone. afterwards, the messiah left his own body and went to hades to go after his sister's soul.
sara : [to... come after me!?]
raphael : but through some accident, it seems like his returning soul has entered into his past incarnation, alexiel's body. however the reason that he returned from hades is... (leans closer) his sister's soul was no longer in hades--------- right? sara-chan?
sara : ...that's right... when... I was sleeping... I've been to many places... I had waken up in a small room where I was put there like a doll... but... soon someone came for me... who was that man... (distant image of zaphkiel) it was a very tall man with long black hair... his heart was full of sorrow...! [I was so lonely and upset... sara : [a voice was always calling me. a very pretty boy with radiant blond hair and blue eyes...]

setsuna (flashback to that strange night) : [that's... what she was up to...? everything... was for this medicine...!? kurai...!!] t... that moron...!! (the skull giggles, setsuna punches the cage) she fell for your tricks!! (his hand kinda hurts, the cage fell to the ground, with a dent in it ^^;;) [no... it's my fault...!! i... caused so much trouble for everyone... and I only cared about myself...!!] (*true, true, which is why I really don't like him, he sucks as the messiah, this never growing up brat... things only worked out for him in the end because this is a manga, he would've been dead long ago if this is real life, nah, if this is real life, I would beat the crap out of him first... and then take over the messiah job ^^*)
arakune : calm down! setsuna, everyone's upset right now. by the way, shall we try that medicine?
noise (crying, though thinking clearly) : [the chopped off arm... is not here... and that ring...]
arakune : listen, kurai sacrificed herself to get that resurrection medicine right? no matter what you want to do, you should return to your body first.

arakune : come on... what are you thinking about, hurry up and drink it.
setsuna : ......oh (pouring.... almost) [I don't know why, for some reason I have a bad feeling...! my hand's are not moving...] (someone's watching from around the corner)
text : the secret potion... of resurrection.

text (one drop about to fall from the bottle) : resurrection...
(noise jumps out and grabs the potion bottle)
noise : gimme that! (grabs and run) if I have this, I can revive voice.
setsuna : noise!! you plan to use that on voice!?
arakune : [this is bad. if voice wakes up now, my secrets will be revealed. he must be silenced...!!]
(noise runs down the hall to voice)
noise : voice, n... now, you'll be revived, voice... poor thing... are you in pain? is there something you regret...!? n... now, you can return again...!! (a thin thread shoots by her hand) ah...? (bottle breaks, the potion spills) ah... ah...! (horrified) WAHHHHHHHHH (kneeling over the spilled mess) why...!? WHY~~~~!!
setsuna (arrives) : ...her hand slipped..
arakune : I tried to catch it but missed...
noise : NOOO!! (grabs arakune's shirt) give it back!! give it back to me---------!!
(arakune's shirt is ripped open a little, showed a portion of scratch marks/scars, noise froze for a second, arakune quickly pushed her away and rebuttoned his shirt)
setsuna (comforting her) : it fell... noise.
noise (still standing frozen) : [those... scars, can it be...]
setsuna : ...what happened to voice was very regrettable. (shaking in anger) I will... not forgive them...!! (look at the broken bottle) however, now I won't be troubled anymore. (goes to the beast with all the broken pieces of the potion) the contract is void. as you see, we didn't accept your item, so everything is voided. I'd also like to pay a visit to the maou-san who wants to marry that girl. more so, I am tired of this cat and mouse chase he's playing at... I'm going to bring her back. (holds up the cage close to his face and stares coldly right at the beast) you are going to be my guide. to sheol... where that maou-sama lives... your empire of darkness!!
arakune (taken aback a little) : [setsuna!!]
someone (enters) : I am... going too. (note that this is a very masculine form of I, "ore") ...don't try to stop me...
(the cloth, the hair, the face... it's voice... and the eyes are dead cold, arakune and setsuna turn around in shock)
setsuna : [voice!?]

yukie's note : a little more explanation since the drama cds are going into the end of the briah stage... yetzirah is where all the other angels live, like raphael here in this chap is in yetzirah, so is zaphkiel, michael etc. briah which is where the drama cd is at right now is where metatron, sevi and co lives, when jibrille was in a coma, the water garden is also in briah, as for atziluth... well, that's the last chapter of the story, now isn't it ^^ god, adam, rociel, alexiel, lucifer and more to come ^_________^
the translations of this chapter is going faster than I thought..., I was half done in no time... while sometimes things take a long time *sigh* I love the jahannam arc, hm... give you a little preview, it ends halfway into volume 11, then begins the shikouten trio, the final chapter of AS.

setsuna (shock) : y... you're...... n... n... noise!? you're noise? what happened to your hair...
noise : since this involves our dear princess, I suppose arakune-sama is going too? then I also have the right to go.
arakune : ! [well... I have to go to hell too to keep an eye on setsuna but...] y... yes, but still... it's too dangerous! we'll get voice's killer...
noise : that is my problem. (darkly) no matter how far I have to go, I will follow him to the bottom of hell... and kill the murderer. my decision has been made, I will get him. (arakune looks at her a little uncomfortably, noise smiles at setsuna) is it alright? messiah...! you're not going to tell me "you can't go" right...?
setsuna (also a bit uncomfortable) : [the hatred... as if it's burning, those unyielding eyes.] ...alright.
arakune (disagree) : setsuna!
setsuna : [no one can change her mind now. only those who have experienced the pain of losing their other half can understand.] it can't be helped. [yes, I use to know someone with eyes like that. was that me? my pain...]
beast (I almost totally forgot he was still there >.<) : it's useless... your anagura is protected by a barrier that prevents lesser demons of the lower levels from invading. I can open a path to this place with powers of mad hatter-sama's degree. and of course... it is possible to open a new path from this side too but... I have no intention of teaching you how.
setsuna (pissed) : what? you... bastard, did you forget the that fact that you are a bird caught in a cage right now? (grab beast's head)
beast : and what do you plan to do, kill me? you can kill me as many times as you want!! however it's all useless, messiah. I can be reborn endlessly, I will rise again time after time!! I'm the great demon lord's dark servant, a demon bestowed with eternal life!
(and... slash... to setsuna's surprise - and everyone else's, kira suddenly appeared... I suppose he's been listening for a while, and with his katana, slashes the beast's head in half...)
kira : monster, what are you trying to show off?
beast (head all bloody on the floor) : ...it... it's all the same no matter how many times you... slash me... I am of the glorious empire of darkness...! (more blood) AHHH
kira : that's right. no matter how many time you're stabbed, your skin ripped and your bones broken, you will still be reborn...! but the pain is also the same. no matter how many times you are killed, you will feel the same pain and suffering. how sad, the eternal suffering that death cannot end... pitiful monster. (his katana all bloody and stabbed into beast's head, pinning it to the wall) sad, pitiful monster. (almost has this crazy dark look in his eyes) just like myself.
beast (setsuna seems most disturbed by what kira said) : wait... no...!! sto... stop...!
kira (still with that really cold dark look *heart*) : you are going to open a path to hell, right?
beast (has a look when he's looking at kira, like he understood something) : is that... thy wish... if... thou... (looks at kira) ...i understand...
(notice he's speaking in a different tone ^^ "sonata" is the archaic "you"... I can't find a better word than thou... though that kinda sounds funny >.< but I suppose beast realizes something nee? nee? ^^)
setsuna (surprised this got settled so easily, or else he's been disturbed by this whole sequence) : !
kira (pull sword out) : good boy. (beast's head falls)
setsuna : sen... (kira starts to leave) senpai!! (hand reaching out)
kira (doesn't turn around) : don't touch me!
setsuna (really taken aback, then grabs a corner of kira's shirt) : ...senpai! I will be back... this time too I will definitely be back ...and so! kurai too... everyone will definitely be back together, and then... we'll be like the old days again! (leaning his head against kira's back... kira has a half smile, maybe sad, maybe understanding... that setsuna can't see)
text : surely... those happy times... surely... (kira continues to walk off pulling free from setsuna's hand) surely will return one day. I believe that time will come. (kira exits, you see blood dripping)
beast (taken the gang to a location) : the gates to hell... to open a path to sheol, we must choose a land that gives off a strong evil aura. for example, the execution house or battle grounds... we must find a land that has spilled much blood and full of hatred. wait... I can feel it... (the three of them, setsuna, arakune and noise are outside, holding beast in a cage) there's a land close by that's filled with a frightening evil aura.
setsuna : what?
beast : it's over there...! what's going on...!! I haven't felt anything before now... this incredible aura...!! (somewhere else, blood drip and drip on stairs) what...... (kira is slowly climbing up a tower, and blood dripping from him) [what is this aura...!!?]
(at the top of the tower is the room that setsuna's body sleeps in)
kira : no one will find me here. then I can go in peace. that's right... I wanna thank you, eh, setsuna... (suddenly notices that setsuna only has 2 earrings left on his ear) [the earrings I gave him... one of them's gone...? then...]
(beast has led them to in front of a old building)
beast : this is it... with this land that's filled with poisonous evil, we can possibly open a gate.
arakune (looking at the ground) : what is this place...
setsuna : it's disgusting... that looks like stains of dark blood... (and so they drew a magic circle on the blood stained area)
beast : now... be prepared... hold each other's hands tightly, and do not leave the magic circle. otherwise I don't know what dimension you'll be thrown into...
setsuna (cheerfully) : alright, then we'll meet in hell!! (beast starts chanting and the magic circle glows)
text : never thought you would really have fallen to hell.
(in the tower)
kira (sitting against a wall) : [setsuna...! so you left... (a pool of blood) [so this is it...? this... body too...] (seems kinda like he's dying *duh* but suddenly notices the shadow of a person starts to come out of the pool of blood)
(skip! sara and raphie is still in the middle of their little "incident")
raphael (carelessly as always) : ...so? have you decided? sara-chan. (sara's looking at him with her eyes blank and wide) I hear girls nowadays have no sense of moral in that area. it's not a big deal, are you going to think until he dies?
sara : you scum...!
raphael : you're pretty when you're angry too. (x.x)
sara (slap his hand away) : you... you perverted old geezer!! ERO JIJI! (anou... I don't think raphael's that old >.<;; ok, maybe in terms of human age but... still he's looks too cute to be a "jiji") and I thought you would have sympathy for a poor lonely girl who can't see, but so that's your intention!!
raphael : [hm, you just realized?] you just look at the world too innocently. this may be good society studies for you. the world is "give and take". there's nothing you can get without dirtying your hands.
sara : [faint... scent of water.]
raphael : ...so?
sara : [and the fragrance of flowers like lilies...]
raphael : your answer?

raphael (put out his cigarette) : ok, then this way. (leads her to his bedroom, on the way, sara walks past a table and knocked over the flower vase)

sara : ...... (secretly picks up a piece of the broken vase)
(in raphael's dark room that looks european - victorian... ^^)
raphael : you've been quiet, are you afraid?
sara (dress half taken off, in a very sexy seductive pose) : of course not... you know, raphie-kun, I'm not that kinda girl. I'm really a very bad girl... (putting her arms around his neck) and... I'll show you that...!! (piece of glass... stab! but she gets blown back by a wind barrier) AHHH (broken glass falls out of her hand...)
raphael (doesn't look like he's surprised or mad) : I see. (the glass piece floating on his hand) you really are a bad girl. you actually thought you can hurt me with this. (broken glass is completely crushed) did you think you can fool me with such childish seduction trap?
sara (lying face down on the bed) : uh...
raphael : but with your hands trembling like that, you can't even kill a bug. (put a hand on her shoulder)
sara (turns around and slaps him) : don't touch me! who would do that with you... if I have to let a dirty guy like you do whatever you want, I rather bite my tongue and die!
raphael (lets go coldly) : then why don't you?
sara (yell at him) : you... you really despises "woman" don't you, that's why those sick and disgusting words come out of you so fluently... that's why you can lie so coolly... (sadly) you don't see "woman" as a person, because you think they are only a tool, a toy, you betray them so unconcernedly... you... really... hate women... so much...?
raphael (for a moment there's something flickering in his eyes) : [hate? women? me...? (note that he's using watakushi here for "me" rather than ore which is what he usually uses... ^^ I suppose he's reverting back to his old speech style ^^ and a face that's all shadowed... a butterfly tattoo on someone's leg...) or perhaps... afraid?] (grabs sara's arm, guess she hit the mark there ^^)
sara : AHHH
raphael (very dark look ^^) : how frightful... the basic instincts of a stupid high school girl...!
(flash... next scene is a total mood change >.< mika-chan's huge head, or a projected image of mika-chan's huge head appears right next to raphie-kun's bed...)
michael : isn't your basic instinct only sex-------------? raphael. (raphael and sara looks at his big head image with sweatdrops, they are puny compared to it >.<)
raphael (fallen back on his bed with a really funny face) : m... mika-chan...! [uh long time no see, looks like you've grown. (ahahahaha ^^)] (sara also looking at the huge head with -.-;; look)
michael : eh------? that girl...
raphael : [oh no...!! if he knows that jibrille is here...] ah... actually she is...! [it's gonna cause a lot of complications...!!]
michael (continue previous sentence) : who is she? (I think raphie just fainted)
raphael (sweatdrops, yelling) : mika-chan...!! you've seen her so many times and you forgot...!? (sara looking at them with sweatdrops)
michael (yell back, with a much larger head ^^) : shut up! do you think I can remember all of your women!
(raphie... looks so cute ^^ in this "completely speechless" look... and sara still looks at them with sweatdrop and a huge "dot dot dot" from both of them)
raphael (then remembers) : oh right, mika-chan, didn't you say we're not friends anymore?
michael : ah-------------? how could I have said something like an elementary school kid! MORON!
raphael (looks down, sigh of give up) : ah.
michael : anyway, I just came back from wasting my time on hunting demons at the borders.
raphael (still recovering from this mind blowing conversation) : [that's right, mika-chan is just like that...]
michael : I got some souvenir for you so I'm coming over right now.
raphael : ah? (sweatdrop) [I thought you hated to come here...] ...then mika-chan, where are you right now?
sara (on the side, funny face) : [I'm being ignored?]
michael (seems to be occupied with other stuff) : eh? wait a sec. what? I'm gonna land now, so I think it's better if you go into shelter.

michael (sitting relaxed in his pilot's seat) : what a idiot. I'm above you.

(the door of the aircraft opens and mika-chan looks like he's gonna parachute down >.< and he does... only with no parachute since he's got wings...)
michael (jump) : are you prepared? HERE I COME------------!!
(and down there... raphael and sara could only stare up with this super shocked expression... and from really really far away... you just see a big flash of light... T.T now mika-chan takes out his bag of "souvenirs" and throws them at raphie)
michael : look!! raphael, all these war prizes!! ain't it amazing? (throwing something that looks like horns at raphie) the fresh liver I got off a behemoth is a good energy booster, and horns cooked will make good nourishment nutrients. you can hang it up in your room and scare your girls too. hm, and this is the dragon's claw!! it's damn heavy! (big cute smile) ahh, go hunt demons when you feel like crap, massive slaughter is the best!! (I think raphie is feeling like crap right now... because the screen zooms out and we finally see beyond mika-chan's face... which is the... piece of ruin that use to be raphie-kun's house T.T) happy? happy? (still such a cute smile)
raphael (sitting in the ruins holding a huge horn and other crap) : so happy... that I'm about to faint... (lots of sweatdrops)

(yelling furiously...) and then without saying one word of apology after stepping on somebody else's head, what kinda education did you get!? and again and again, you sound like a salesman the way you trouble others with these tasteless disgusting souvenirs. and most importantly, think this over and figure out how much you have to pay to fix the house, but first how do you plan to clean up this place!?
michael (funny face of being totally flooded) : ......
raphael (on the side) : ......... (look of horror) [t... this is bad, stupid girl, to give mika-chan a huge long lecture will make him even more confused and could possibly drive him even crazier!! and also I've noticed since earlier but, sara-chan... you... you... are damn ferocious...]

shadow : the limit of your human boy's body has not changed... the next time this body receives a mortal wound it will be the end... you will lose your human body...

(the person inside the cloak is belial... without all her makeup and stuff... she looked almost sad)

mad hatter (stand up) : this is an important time, not the occasion to get sentimental. yes... if I don't check on the princess now, (walking out of her room, lots of hangers sticking out of the wall, with lots of hats on them, she picks a hat, and puts her hand over her face, poof, there is makeup!) my beloved princess will have her lovely eyes glaring widely, because she will be furious.
(and so she is... T.T)
kurai : mad hatter!! (in a fancy dress, but looks super pissed) just how long do you plan to lock me in here!? I'm so damn bored I'm gonna die!!
mad hatter (cute face) : ...... (starts to chuckle) ah~~~~ you're so cute *heart* I choose that dress because it would fit you so well! and it just perfectly brings out your natural qualities...!
kurai (super embarrassed) : eh~~~~ really~~~~~ [how embarrassing~~~~~] (then grab mad hatter's shirt collar angrily) don't you think you can change the subject~~~~~~!! (vein) [you are gonna talk!]
mad hatter (cute sweatdrop face) : [I thought you might fall for it.] it's for your own safety that until the night of the full moon... the day of the marriage ceremony, you are not allowed to go outside.
kurai : what my safety?
mad hatter : although you are the royal blood of the evils, you were raised in the uppermost level anagura with the best atmosphere. the evil aura in sheol will be poisonous to you. we wish for a pure and untainted bride... I suppose it's alright if you know this, we the empire of darkness that rules hell with sheol as our headquarters harvests countless demons. amongst them, the seven generals of the great demon's level are called the seven satans, and each leads their own forces of darkness... I too am one of those satans. and amongst the satans, there is a rebellious force led by duke asmodeus, we are in a unsettled equilibrium of constant guard and surveillance. they of course are not pleased by the evils' support.
kurai (surprise) : but... isn't that their own master...?
mad hatter : that's why demons are demons. we are very straight forwards with our desires, the rule is to get what you want by force... the strong are correct... and that's the law here. it's not rare to see ungrateful behavior towards the master, or friends who betray each other... and even the demon lord-sama is no exception. therefore, the demon lord must have overwhelming power so frightening that he can control everyone. ...do you understand?
kurai : basically... I'm in the way of the rebellious demons...?
mad hatter : that's right. therefore to prevent others disturbances, this room was built in the gap of twisted dimensions. no one will be able to enter aside from myself, even if princess takes one step out of this place, I will have no knowledge of which dimension you are sent to. there are dangerous demons out there...
kurai (arms crossed) : i... I'm not afraid of whatever demons!
mad hatter : oh really? however there are some here who appears beautifully indeed yet inside they enjoy nothing more than watch people suffer in pain and death... (from the shadow in the background, I think she's talking about astaroth, my favorite psycho ~.~) yes... there are even demons that will take your life just at the sight of him.
kurai (I think she's starting to worry) : j... just from seeing him...?
mad hatter : yes. he has scythe shaped giant wings and a gigantic body covered in green scales, and a tail of a dragon... he use to be someone of great nobility... but because his power has killed so many, he is now locked up in an underground cell... eh? (suddenly looks alarmed)
kurai (mad hatter's black wings open and pushes kurai down in a protective manner) : AHHHH!!
(the place shakes... think - earthquake)
mad hatter : [we can even feel the demon lord's power in this broken alternative dimension...!!]
kurai (getting up) : w... what was that... just now...
mad hatter : [it seems the 999th marriage ceremony must take place soon... as soon as possible--------!] (leaving) please excuse me---------
kurai : eh?
mad hatter : it'll be alright princess, I will come to see you everyday, so please stay here patiently.
(kurai looks totally bored alone)
kurai : [mad hatter brings lots of delicious food and pretty dresses everyday and show me great tricks (magic?) but, (not paying attention to all the fancy stuff in the room) I'm not touched by anything I see anymore. ] how extravagant. [I'm afraid of boredom. I will think when I'm bored... about him... (holds a little earring she stole from setsuna's body) this is the earring I stole from setsuna's body... I thought this alone will be the support of my heart as I walk towards marriage, but in truth it was the origin of my troubles... (many images of setsuna flash by) setsuna... setsuna... setsuna...!! (suddenly looks up really decisively) no good...!! I can't do this! think why I decided to give up everything! this thing... if I have this thing...!! (throws it out the window) I am going to throw it away with all my memories up till now!! (suddenly... watching it fall) until now......? everything...!? to have setsuna erased from myself... to lose everything...... (remembers setsuna's smile)] n...! NOOO!! DON'T!!! (hand reach out the window to grab it) [how can I forget... how can I forget him!! my... my most important... important possession. something even sara doesn't have... (the earring landed on the window sill outside) something important that only belongs to me...!!] (reach out further) AHH! (grabbed the earring... but also fell out the window... smart....) WAHHHHH!!
(seems to have landed in a bottomless pit... regain conscious)
kurai : ......it (half dead, but holding the earring >.<) [......it's still here......! where... am I? did I fall down from all the way up there...? (look up... sun seems so far away) lucky I'm still alright. ah... lost a shoe, and the dress the ripped too. uh~oh, mad hatter said I'm not suppose to leave. (sound) something... is here!? sounds like chains...?]
text : "locked up in an underground cell..." "gigantic body covered with green scales and the tail of a dragon..." (kurai slowly turns around fearfully) "everything that had one glance of it lost their lives."
(kurai looked up and there was this towering giant monster that... looks like a typical monster T.T meanwhile... a ray of light breaks through the cloudy sky of hell)
demons : ... someone has opened a gate to sheol...... 2... 3 people... and amongst them... is an angel of light...! we can devour her, or tear her into pieces. we want it, we want it, the lost holy power, the white wings. [the brilliant light that will never again be ours no matter how much we long for] (setsuna has landed in sheol... yay *cheering unenthusiastically* and he's lying unconscious) at the bottom of this darkness, angels are such beautiful things. I want it, I want it, it's mine. no it's mine. (many hands grab for setsuna) let me cut off her white wings, I want to see her suffer in pain. show her what it's like to have her body stained in blood. give her a taste of the worst humiliation in the world.
(suddenly setsuna's eyes open and nanatsusaya is at their throats)
setsuna : sorry, but I'm picky about looks. (gets all bloody etc) not good... [the atmosphere makes breathing difficult...! so heavy.] I stand out too much here...! [with a wretched sensation...!]
beast : do you understand now, that it was foolish for a inhabitant of light to come here. in this place you are everyone's most exquisite feast. your flesh, hair, and down to every feather of your white wings, they will die for.
noise (appears) : messiah...!
setsuna : what's wrong, noise?
noise : messiah, arakune-sama who was just here before is gone.
setsuna : arakune?
someone (mad hatter I guess) : brought the messiah to sheol......? what is really going on?
arakune (talking on communication device) : that potion plan failed. and to not cause any suspicions, I had to come along with the messiah... (the device being his earring)
mad hatter ('s voice, might I add) : ...then that can't be helped. push him down the river of lethe that all dead souls must pass while you're crossing. if he touches the water of that river, he will lose all his memories. he won't even remember who he is. yes... like a blank sheet of paper, then the messiah's power will be in our hands, our empire...! and... it's for the sake of your revenge too...
arakune : .......... (suddenly... behind him)
setsuna : arakune!

Act III : The Brides at the Bottom of Hell, Part 6
(setsuna approaching)
setsuna : arakune!! (arakune turns around in surprise with this really dangerous glare, setsuna takes a little step back) [!?] I thought I heard someone talking just now... are you alright...?
arakune (returning normal) : i... it's nothing, I was talking to myself...
noise (intentionally) : eh...? ...but you really don't look too well. is there something you're hiding from us?
arakune : what is this, noise, are you my guardian?
setsuna (totally don't get it >.<) : ...?
noise : you sound like you've done something that can't be known. right, arakune-sama?
arakune (getting annoyed) : that's enough!
setsuna (he's lost) : [-----?]
arakune : [calm down, gotta calm down.] (start drawing a diagram on the dirt with a branch) sheol looks somewhat like a broken circle like this, (imagine one circle inside another, in between is the river) in order to go to the center where is the demon lord's palace is located... [I can't let them find now, I can't make a mistake now. yes, as long as setsuna and noise both fall down the river of lethe.] whether you like it or not, we have to cross the river of lethe. [or else I will kill them. all the people in my will have to disappear.] if we can't, I wonder if we get to the land of the unknown demons. [yes, this is not for anyone else, not even for the demon lord. it's only for myself.]
setsuna (curiously) : this is really precise. why did you study so much about hell, arakune? (he asked unintentionally, but arakune looks like he was shot)
arakune : yeah, I studied it on my own... call it my side interest.
setsuna : eh...
arakune : let's go, I'm worried about kurai.
setsuna : [something's strange with arakune... kurai who's always been with him is in such danger yet he could still calmly make the right decisions. and now you think about it, when we discovered voice's body, he was also incredibly composed. and somehow I'm a bit unsettled that things are going so successfully.]
(they reach the river)
beast (I keep on forgetting he's there) : ---------you are about to see it.
setsuna (look at the river) : [so this is the river of lethe!!!]
(note, lethe is the river in Hades, underworld of greek mythology that causes forgetfulness... I think I'll actually make a reference page of all these weird names in AS T.T for example, the name of my site, jahannam which is also the name of this current arc in AS means hell in islamic therefore not all things in AS are christian... not that I know much about christanity to begin with ~.~)
beast : that's right. the ones who touch the water of this river will lose all the memories of their life. the river that make the lost souls forget their past lives and go into reincarnation with an empty heart. the surface of the water also will reflect the fate of those who stare upon it...
setsuna (sees a boat rowing towards them) : a boat! there's someone on it. alright! if we grab that boat... (yeah, real smart)
beast : that's not necessary. the guardian charon has completely forgotten everything due to the power of lethe itself. he has nothing else in his head except to row the people across.
setsuna (and gang gets on) : it's fine right? hey, you are gonna row us across right? (charon, this guy in black cloak turns around and totally scares setsuna with his skeleton face) WAH! (sits back and recovers) errrrr----------- (look at the water) [such pretty water... it's hard to image that this is hell. we've finally reached the bottom. I had planned to look for sara, but now I feel I'm getting further and further away from her. [as if it's just like that. forgive me sara, but I have to get kurai back! and then I'll definitely come to get you...!! definitely...] (his reflection - alexiel's image is kinda fading in the water and sara's face appears...) SARA!? (arakune and noise look up in surprise)
noise : messiah!?
arakune : [now!] (hand reach out, about to push setsuna)
setsuna (still staring at the water, how pathetic) : SARA-------!!
(anyway, in the meantime, ji-chan's little lecture hasn't ended yet... as raphie-kun sits in his ruined house, holding weird looking horns and claws with a damn funny face...)
raphael : um ~~~~~ hello...
sara (yelling at the top of her lungs) : YOU GOT THAT!? HEY YOU!! HAVE YOU LISTENING!? HELLO!? now you listen-------- my name is "mudou sara"! you better remember it! I am the sister of setsuna, the one whom you call "messiah"!!
raphael (worse than horrified) : [EH!?] (quickly covering her mouth and looks really funnily annoyed) that was nothing------!!
sara (mumbling) : UMMMM! (probably trying to say something like "go to hell" ^^) what the hell are you doing-------------!!
raphael : just shut up!
michael (slowly... slowly... very slowly.........) : raphael~~~~~~~
raphael (still covering sara's mouth and sara looks damn pissed ^^) : y... yes!?
michael (lift a finger... slowly... point) : what is this thing?
raphael (poor raphie-kun just passed out >.<) : [EH!?]
sara (looking more pissed) : is "this thing" referring to me--------!?
michael (looking half brain dead) : I thought I saw it somewhere, but can't remember...
raphael (many sweatdrops) : [you've seen her so many times long ago...] (thinking, vein) she's one of the four elemental angels just like you!!
michael (looking analytically at sara) : well, it's got two feet, where a skirt, and has two eyes, I just know I've seen it somewhere...
raphael (sweatdrop, vein) : I don't think she's the only one who has those things! (pushing mika-chan away) mika-chan, you're head's completely blank right now so why don't you just go home today? alright?
michael (walking out scratching his head) : ...yeah.
raphael : [we can talk about the repair fee some other time.]
sara (watching them with a sweatdrop) : what's with this...
(as michael is walking out)
raphael (big smile) : please go out through the front door~~~~~ (as if it still matters >.< he's got no walls anymore)
sara (on the side, sweatdrop) : [wait a sec------] what is with this~~~~ (mika-chan walk, walk)
raphael (almost relief, thinking) : ah~ thank god, that was a close one... [it doesn't get closer than that.] now let's just hope that with all this confusion he won't remember within three steps... (mika-chan walk, walk *this is step two* and...)
michael (step three, stop, turn around, really dark look on his face, glare) : the messiah's... sister?
(kurai and the monster)
text : deep... deep, deep in the grounds under, is a monster locked in chains. anyone who lays an eye upon him... will have their lives taken. those who have one glance of him...
(the monster roars... kurai looks shocked...)
kurai (crutch her chest in pain) : [my chest... I'm dying...!? I'm going to die...!!! (well duh, since you didn't listen to mad hatter and stay quietly in ur room)] ! (suddenly glowing... the earring that she's holding) [the pain in my chest... is disappearing so incredibly...!! (look down at what she's holding) setsuna's... setsuna's earring!?] I'm alive... (suddenly so grateful she's alive) [setsuna...] hahah... [setsuna's power protected me...!!] (wrong!! but let's not get into that yet ^^)
monster : y... you're not dead...? why...? everyone who saw me was killed... by my frightening appearance... I'm a cursed... monster... by everyone... that's why I'm locked up here alone. (the place is covered with skeletons) those... they all use to be alive, until... he brought them here... (if you are wondering who "he" is... just wait ^^) but... they all died from seeing me...
kurai (looks up sympathetically) : so... you've been always locked up here alone...? (see some birds flying in the sky above)
monster : those... aerias... I always watch them from here... in the sky... free... with their friends... seems so happy. but... once they see me... they die...! I always watch them ...from down here ...always. but it's alright... if they... touch... me... they would be tainted...! a cursed... monster... like myself...
kurai (looks him with so much sympathy... and reach into her pocket) : ...wait! I've got some good stuff so just you wait! but don't show your face. don't move, alright?
(takes out cookie/break chunks and spread them on the monster's huge claw... and all the little birdies fly down to get it. they land all over the monster)
kurai : see! you just made lots of friends!
monster (somehow the sun looks brighter too) : friends...?
kurai : if you're a monster with a cursed heart, do you think these sensitive little creatures will approach you? (smile) they really like you too!
monster : [like... like...? (kurai's smile... touched him)]
kurai : yes! you and I can run away from here together!! it's alright!! it's gonna work out somehow. I came here from anagura do be the demon lord's bride. I'm going to be the queen and I'm sure I can do anything!! (monster has strange look, then grabs kurai) that's why... WAH!?
monster (awww... he hugs kurai... kinda disproportional though) : mama...
kurai : m... moron!! who's your mama. (monster, rub against cheek endearingly) stop it!! (pissed, I wouldn't be liked to be called mama either at 13 years old... >.<)
monster : mama, mama, mama... I love... I love you...
kurai (give up, pat, pat) : ...geez... alright, alright. (embarrassed) ahh!! call me whatever you want!
(suddenly! sound... the monster looks up in fear)
monster : he's coming!
kurai : ! eh!? (the monster puts her down)
monster : he's coming...!! (shows her a little tunnel) hurry, hurry and run away.
kurai : [a tunnel!!] (climbing into the tunnel) hey! (and the monster immediately closes the tunnel behind her)hey!! why the hell did you close the tunnel!? (banging) then... what are you going to do!!
(now we get a full view of the place, the monster is sitting in a cave like cell with bars and all... some is speaking from outside the bars... my favorite psycho ^^)
astaroth : hm...? now what naughty thing did you do...? (don't get to see his face yet, but he's in a dress, with a white snake around his neck) I will find out even if you play stupid. let's see... a child... (eyes open wider...) I smell a little girl...!! that girl... didn't die after seeing you? quite amazing. could it be someone with the powers of the great demon like myself... or something entirely different... ...and you helped her escape, it seems like you really like that child. no matter, I'll find out when I capture her. monster (roars) : ARGHHHHHH
astaroth : hahah, you're worried? it's alright, I won't do anything to her. (leaving) ...ah yes, your highness. that girl... (very psychotic smile... but his face is still half shadowed T.T) was she as soft as all the ones before her...?
monster : AHHHHHHHHHHH (roaring angrily)
astaroth (leave, laughing) : HAHAHAHAHAHA
("your highness" refers to that the monster is the prince, though astaroth is not too bothered by that at all... kurai after climbing out the tunnel finds herself inside this other huge ancient looking building...)
kurai : [there it is again! the sound coming from the ground like before...!! and by the way... what is this place... it's like a maze, the twists and crosses just goes on like it never ends...!? it's like I'm in a serpent's lair.
(behind her is this huge snake... with a human head that has long hair etc... and the face looks like astaroth... *though still no clear shot* it's looming over kurai with this hungry, preying look... kurai seems to sense something and quickly turn around, but there's nothing there...)
kurai : [w... what was that cold feeling just now like someone has gripped my heart...!! I wasn't mistaking it. just now, I really did see something...!! (then she hears some sound) I hear a voice. a woman's beautiful voice...!! it sounds like a lullaby... (run in that direction) it's coming from that direction!! oh at this moment I really wish to be with someone, anyone...! (sees a door) that's the room!! hurry!!! (she's definitely scared... pushes the door open, or bang it open... and the first thing she sees is a black snake sticking it's tongue out at her)] !
(guess she didn't expect that to be the welcome. there's a beautiful woman sitting in a chair in that room, she has long hair, fancy dress like astaroth's but the difference is that there's a black snake around her neck... and she looks pregnant)
astarte : my... what a soft and tender child you are. now what business do you have with the marquise astarte...?
(she said "baby" but i don't want to use... "baby" >.<)

yukie's note : ahh, finally, vol 9 done, on to the climax of the jahannam arc! actually, that's in volume 11, but at least I'm closer ^^;; now... I'm sure you've all noticed there's a submit ur email thing on the main archive page, that if for you gimme ur email and I'll add you to a list that will receive a email every time I update the archive... ok, I'm not good with words, so that just sounded really bad, but you get the idea...
