(in gehenna, kurai wakes up rubbing her eyes, meanwhile, setsuna says farewell to the rebels)
raziel : after what happened in chuku kairo, heaven has passed into an emergency state, it will be more difficult to pass through their barrier. of course we will guide you until the barrier.

michael (turns his vehicle around instantly) : ! (his wings shrunk away, his eyes were wide and he's breaking out in cold sweat) [wha...!! (supporting himself on his sword) what the fuck is he doing here...!!?]
angels (watch michael flying away) : m... michael-sama!?
michael (grips himself tightly) : [I'm trembling...!! I can't stop trembling...!!!] (pulls off the eyepatch, if this picture is colored, I swear that he's turning either blue or green) that's why he told me not to approach the messiah...! raphael you bastard...!!!
(the fleet left as fast as they came... well they were only there for 2 pages -_-;;)
setsuna (looking in the direction they went) : everyone retreated...! (relief) ...I have no idea what happened but it looks like we're saved... (sweatdrop) [especially when it was michael...]

setsuna (outside the palace) : I'm glad we made it back to anagura in one piece... ...? what's this, why is it so quiet here?

(there's no one around, setsuna though... froze as he "felt" his other self - alexiel - was being approached, someone was leaning on the angel crystal and touching alexiel's lips... uh... guess who -_-;; he turned around and ran in that direction without another word)
katou (confused) : hey, mudou!?
(setsuna swung the doors wide open, the room that the angel crystal was kept in)
rociel (looks up lazily) : ...geez. oh, that sevi... wasn't able to hold you off huh.
(the inside... was a mess or in ruins, either way works. basically the walls, ceilings and whatever else had all collapsed, many evils were crushed to death underneath. the angel crystal was broken, cracked open, and rociel was sitting in the midst of the debris, wings wide spread, holding alexiel's body in his arms)
setsuna (shock) : ...wha... (rociel leaned down and kisses alexiel, who looked like she's just sleeping) what are you doing...!! rociel...!
rociel : can't you see? it's a beautiful portrait of the brother sister reunion. I've only come to take back my sister's body, and everyone would not have died if they did not get in my way. I just wanted to punish the thief who stole my sister's body, (points) look.
setsuna (following his finger) : ...?

(the cover is a nice sketch of kira *_* but dark... chapter opens in blood... and a decapitated head... who...?)
text (flashback) : I want to go with you guys too. (flashback of kurai waving goodbye to them) don't leave me behind, hey, do come back. (setsuna turned around in the direction rociel pointed and looked in horror) setsuna...
setsuna (can I say... traumatized?) : ah... ahh (flash back to kurai's worried face when they left for heaven) WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH (turns around in fury, forms an energy blast in his hands) ROCIEL------!!
(rociel puts down alexiel's body and gets up with a sinister smile, welcoming his attack. BANG, scene schanged ^^;;)
michael : you fucking knew everything, didn't you, RAPHAEL!!
raphael (calmly catches michael's punch in one hand) : looks like you finally found out... mika-chan... (michael slaps away his hand angrily) that the cursed sword nanatsusaya mitamanotsurugi whose seal was broken by alexiel and currently passed down to the messiah... yes... is where the soul of the demon lord lucifer resides. he who was once at the tip of glory in heaven as your twin older brother------ and he who betrayed heaven and became the sovereign of darkness as the lord of the fallen angels, the demon lord lucifiel... or rather... lucifer... right? but whatever it is, thousands of years ago he was secretly captured by heaven and sealed in the cursed sword, as for the reason, I do not know.
(michael glares at him in surprise... some things began to come back to him, memories from a long time ago...)
text : michael. you...

raphael : that is a shell. but if the man who now has lucifer's soul... if he were to die, the demon lord's body would also break apart... the land of hell which loses his support would collpase. (lighting a cigarette... he sure is calm about all this -_-) and the balance between heaven and earth would be in chaos. (gaze afar) as for what kind of transformation will arise in the world, even I do not know.
(gehenna... an otherwise empty hallway in the palace)
katou : KIRA!? (kira seems to be struggling a bit, supporting himself on the katana) you... the blood from your chest...!?
kira (gaze ahead with a dark expression) : he... is here... and this time... [he's serious...!] (the bloodmark on his chest won't stop bleeding)
katou (tries to help him) : what are you talking about... you...! (eyes widen) ki... (kira suddenly punched him in the stomach)
kira : you're such a idiot, and always gets in the way, and you're the worst in keeping time and promises. but I just couldn't ignore your doomed look, like a pathetic beaten dog. (the last thing that katou heard from him was...) ...but the little playing-human game is now over, it was fun.
(katou falls to the ground.... the katana shiranui stabs into the ground in front of him)
katou : uh... ra... (watches kira walk away not able to do a thing) [kira!!]
(kira walks down the hall, and stops as he hears something from a duct like passage on the side)
kira : ...who is it... over there!? (goes over and look inside the duct) !!
(meanwhile, setsuna just got blasted back like 10 feet and made a whole trail in the stone ground)
setsuna (holding his head, which is bleeding from being knocked into the wall) : UH...!!
rociel (looks really like a woman in this pic -_-) : you're such a big difference from alexiel... (meaning he sucks) look at how you got so worked up for just one little brat, you're no match for me. I'll be taking alexiel's body. (eyes glow in evil light) yes, you will die here, so alexiel can be resurrected.
setsuna (looks up angrily) : you've gotta be kidding...! there's no way I'll die... until I free sara... defeat you, and return earth to the way it was...!
rociel (with interest) : sara? ahh... you mean jibrille. that would be impossible, because she will be put to death very soon. (setsuna looks up in shock) ahh, more accurately speaking, it's not being put to death. she is the archangel of water amongst the four elements after all, if you kill her, the element will be out of control. but the forbidden sin she has committed with her own brother cannot be forgiven. therefore if she's found guilty, I believe she will be staked as a punishment and only her brain that has lost its self-consciousness will be preserved. there is also a way to find someone else to inherit her element and then put her to death, but the other way is much simpler, plus you save the effort of trying to find someone with the elementals' level of power. and to control jibrille's mind is what sevi is after. because he is cornered right now, it's a little plot of his to strengthen his position. (smiles illy) aren't you happy, she won't die after all. you'll eventually be able to meet her. just that she won't have any hands or feet or face.
setsuna (is probably trembling in rage) : ...you don't know anything, do you...!! those lives of those who still struggled to live even as they were crushed by stone... the lives that struggles... like insects... so pitiful...!! (all the evils lying around) you want to get alexiel back...? (slowly gets up) kurai and the evils didn't take alexiel away from you... (grins fiercely) alexiel abandoned you, a monster like you.
(although he finally got say a few lines after rociel's LONG speech, you figure he'd say the wrong things -_-;; rociel froze... *thump, thump* he looked... wounded? eyes widen... and suddenly explodes)
rociel (wings spread out, sudden blast of power) : THE ONES WHO MADE MY BODY AN UGLY MONSTER ARE YOU HUMANS!! (really crazy dark look)
(setsuna would obviously... be dead if the attack hit him. blood splatter, when you look again, kira was there standing in front of setsuna who was kinda cowering down -_- rociel's attack of wires all hit kira's arm which is now bleeding like hell)
setsuna (shock) : [se...] senpai...
kira : don't worry, setsuna. (still calm as ever) kurai is not dead.
(standing at the door, was noise and kurai. she was wrapped in a bedsheet and seemed really sick but noise is supporting her)
kurai : setsu... na...!
setsuna (shock again) : [KURAI!?]
noise : back then... when that man suddenly descended and asked for the princess's head, princess... found out that many people were killed and rushed out...! but then...!!
(flashback to what happened... a few evils rush into the room, wounded and dead, among them is...)
elder : aik!!
aik (one of the few surviving guards) : no good! that bastard is heading for alexiel's shrine already... and said show me the princess' face... (the elder drew his sword and as if making a big decision) KYAHHHHHHHH
kurai (though half protected by noise, saw...) : ! (the elder cut of aik's head, that's his son you know -_-)
elder : we'll pretent that this head is the princess and distract him!!
kurai (horrified) : ah... ahhh...!!
elder : don't make aik die for nothing!! noise!! don't leave the princess's side! protect her with your life!!
(setsuna looks at the end again, and moved the hair aside to reveal a mark on the forehead that kurai doesn't have)
setsuna : [it's really not kurai!! it's someone else!!!]
noise (crying) : the princess cannot communicate with the dragon gods in her current state...!! or else the dragon who sees the future, jade-sama, would have foretold something...!!! and we would not have been completely wiped out...!!
(elsewhere, katou stood up supporting himself on the katana and struggled to move along the wall)
katou : fuck... kira you bastard...!! why... did you go off leaving your weapon with me...!! YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING, KIRA!! [it's as if you're... as if...]
(scene change back to rociel)
rociel : whether you were warned or not, the result is the same. and whether that head is real or not, I don't really give a damn. (wires wrap around kira's arm) hehehe, this is the extent of the power of my blood on your chest... your regenerating abilities are really at the limit...! (arms wrap around kira from behind and touch the mark) the blood spattered when alexiel stabbed me...! (wires rip into kira's body) cursed sword who has sealed me on the earth!!
setsuna (scream) : stop it!!
rociel (his nails cut into the blood mark on kira's chest) : ahh.. yes. your heart... I begin to feel your pain...! were you also attracted by alexiel. wasn't it your feelings for alexiel that made you follow her through the long path of reincarnation? such a painful desire buried inside your chest... (taunting him) poor soul... (kira's right arm breaks off and fell to the ground) but it will all be alright. (makes him look at setsuna) if you kill him, alexiel will awaken. (whispers seductively in his ear) think of all the thousands of years that you have pursued alexiel, compared to that... what is the few years that you spent with this humans? (kira seems unsettled, alexiel is lying peacefully before him) to us, that is really an instant in time. (urge him on) come on... if you don't do it soon, your body will die. if you like this body, I'll give you my blood again. remember the reason that you were brought into this world, the meaning that you were born as the absolute evil.
setsuna (surprised) : [what is he talking about...!?]
(the wires wrap around nanatsusaya that's on the ground and bring it into kira's hand)
rociel : remember that you were born... as the enemy of humans... the god who slaughters the living... a black snake. inside you, is the lust and hunger for power and rebellion, and the desire for destruction. and that is all. (malicious smile) the one who holds eternal hatred for humans, that is who you are. no matter what you do, you cannot understand human emotions!! now, if you want alexiel, then kill that puny human!
setsuna (backing away against the wall) : senpai...?
rociel : oh cursed soul!!
(an abstract sketch of alexiel... aloof as ever)
text : although you love me so... it...
kira (hold up nanatsusaya facing setsuna and smiles) : sorry, setsuna... (stabs *heart miss a beat*)
(katou rushes into the room at that point)
katou : S... STOP IT KIRA!!
(blod splatters...)
text : ...is all meaningless----------
kira (smile) : it's time to put an end to my hatred from the ancient darkness, and the feelings for that woman.
(setsuna, katou, and rociel all have a look of shock/surprise...)
text : I... didn't want to become a human.
(flip of page... a fading scene where kira stabbed nanatsusaya into his own chest, went through his body and into rociel behind him)
text : perhaps... I just... wanted to become kira sakuya------?

yukie's note : you kno, I got so many emails after chapt 2 asking to hurry up and translate cuz I left off at such a cliffhanger ^^;; but I don't think chap 3 is any better is it? and flipping forward... neither is chap 4, 5 or 6 -_-;; vol 14 certainly is a cliffhanger volume. obviously since they are published by chapters, cliffhangers are authors' favorite to keep readers interested, looking forward to the next chapter, and AS certainly has had a lot of them in the past already but I suppose 14 is one of those breakthrough parts.

(I've been getting a lot of emails during the 3 weeks where I delayed and then further delayed the translation of this chapter, apparently the suspense was killing everyone but I doubt this particular ending is going to be any better. anyway, beginning where we left off, chap 4 opens with an abstract, back view image of a majestic figure and long hair flowing down his back ;_;)
text : I hereby free you all. you may now choose your lord by your own will.
(hell is bleeding... like the time when setsuna cut the ground open, now that thick red liquid is flowing all over the place, some splattered at someone's foot)
text : such a cruel man----- (the mad hatter looks up expressionlessly) even if your soul is to disappear in a place that I do not know, or that the lands of hell would return to ruins along with you...
(something suddenly shows up behind her)
asmodeus : hm... it seems like he's dying for real this time, your beloved lord------ the satans have all gathered in the ceremonial ring.
mad hatter : ...then I shall join as well.
text : you are my only true lord------- even in death---------
(they leave, behind her, blood gushed out from the chest of the giant statue of lucifer)

(kira had stabbed the sword into his own chest, went out the back and into rociel)
rociel (shocked) : uh... uhh... (kira pulls out the sword) y... you...! (eyes widens in shock, holding on to his wound and yells angrily) LUCIFER-------!!
(kira turns around swiftly and slashes him in half)
kira : don't hang onto me, you nasty bastard. (rociel falls back in splattering blood)
setsuna : ! (as rociel's upper half of the body falls right at his feet, still with a look of disbelief on the face, setsuna stares wide-eyed, approaching kira carefully) sen... pai...
kira (looks back with his usual twisted smile) : ...even if I die... you would manage somehow, right? (setsuna looks at him in shock) this body has actually done well. the time has come to return both him and this name to kira sakuya. (supports himself on nanatsusaya) I must let him rest in peace now...! you can manage now even without me, you are just you and you have to believe in yourself... you're not alexiel... you are mudou setsuna. I... I'm fine, as I have told you before... there's no such thing as death for me.
setsuna : I... (yells out crying) I can't go on without you...!! it won't be fine or whatever, senpai...!!! (he runs towards kira)
kira : [setsuna...!!]
text : I don't know how many times I have exchanged bodies following that woman. but you are the first one who made me forget about alexiel, you are the only one...
(setsuna's hand touched his shirt, but suddenly blood gushed out in his face from all over kira's body, a hand pierced through his chest from behind... yes very bloody... setsuna watches blankly, not having registered the fact yet, as kira's body is completely ripped into pieces)
text : even... if I die...
(a shot of the crystal, kira's soul, shattering into pieces)
setsuna (completely horrified doesn't begin to describe it) : UWAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (falls to his knees next to pieces of flesh) it can't be...!! it can't be---------!!!
(katou, kurai and noise also watches in horror, suddenly, a foot steps on a part that would have been the head -_- setsuna looks up and it's half of rociel's body, uh, missing half cuz he was cut in half by kira before. the hand that stretched out looked like it was holding something, probably a heart ¬¬ the part where he was cut in half is now sucking back all the blood back into his body)
setsuna (wide eyes) : wha...
rociel : hehehehehe (his other half which was somewhere on the ground popped up and attached itself back to where it was, doesn't even seem like he was ever wounded)
katou : i... is he a monster... that guy...!!?
(rociel glares at him darkly, a lot of wires stretch out behind him and shoots towards katou and co.)
katou : wahhh!!
setsuna (not a step behind) : [stop it!!] (his wings are spread out on his back when he uses his power, he took a large piece of stone to block rociel's attack, while pushing katou and the two girls out the door) *panting*
katou (falling out of the room) : ! (once outside, the heavy stone fills in the door space, completely locking them outside) wahh!! (katou pounds the stone) damn it!! that bastard mudou... he locked us outside! did you think we were in the way!?
(just as setsuna blocked them outside, a hand reached out for him from behind)
rociel : you plan to protect your friends like that? (setsuna turns around alarmingly) but... (rociel's nails grew out longer like a claw) it's all... too late. (he clawed down setsuna's back, ripping one of his wings off, and knowing about wing cutting stuff, it really hurts -_-)
setsuna : GAHHHHHHHHH (crouching on the ground) wahhhhhh
rociel (steps on the broken wing) : ...does it hurt? well of course. are you angry to have your most important friend be killed? or are you sad? do you hate me that much? (setsuna's using all his strength to hold himself together) the one who had mudou sara killed was also me. (setsuna's eyes suddenly widen) it's true. (flashback of when sara stepped in front of setsuna to protect him) I really hate that woman. and the one who ripped apart your beloved senpai... the one who completed annihilated your vengeful friends of the evils was all me... (setsuna's eyes widen in hatred) ...do you hate me?
setsuna (slowly crawling up from the ground) : I will kill you...!! I definitely will...!!! I... never thought I would be able to hate someone so much...!! rociel... as long as you are alive, I will turn the world around if I have to in order to find you and drag you out!! (gets up) I will definitely kill you-------!!
(rociel suddenly grabs setsuna's head, his finger jabbed into setsuna's right eye, that eye's pretty much gone for certain -_-)
rociel : shut up... you still don't get it, even after seeing with your own eyes? I can't die... even if you tear my limbs to pieces and torch them in flames... and have my head chopped down...! I can't die...! I CAN'T DIE!! (angrily) it's all because you didn't kill me!! before I went mad... there still could have been a chance back then... but you didn't kill me! (his wires wrapped all around setsuna and lifted him into the air) you chose the future of humans while sending me into endless hell!!
(suddenly katan appears, flying down from above)
katan : rociel-sama!! we must leave now without a moment to lose!! the earth... and anagura will collapse any time!! since that man... who had the demon lord lucifer's soul died, lucifer's real body that held together hell is breaking down!
setsuna (shock) : [the demon lord lucifer's soul...!? he meant senpai...!!? then kira senpai really... is dead...!!
katan : please hurry!! rociel-sama! (rociel ignores him and looks at setsuna) rociel-sama... time is...
setsuna (wrapped in wires, can't see his face) : ...kill me. but just remember this... even if I die and alexiel is revived... (looks up violently) there will never be a day when my soul will forgive you...!! I will not forget this hatred...!!
(down in the lowest level of hell, the satans are gathered)
mammon : ...sorry but I'm not about to go down with the land.
(the lord of flies utters something as well...)
barbelo (can't see her face well, half hidden in shadow) : now is the time to display our powers. let the creator's dogs become our living sacrifices as we once again regain our past glory...
text : heaven shall fall into our hands...!!
(a platform with all seven satans rise above the earth, they stand in a circle and performs some kind of ritual as the giant lucifer statue breaks apart in the background)
katan (anagura really begins to collapse, since it's a part of hell as well) : rociel-sama-----!!
(rociel looks at setsuna who's bound in his wires, one of his eyes was blinded and bleeding, the other was giving him a look of utmost hatred. rociel released setsuna and prepares to leave with katan)
rociel : go ahead if you think you can do it... come oppose me further... struggling and covered in blood... and even more pathetic...! that is, if you don't die here first. why don't I just wait for you to come kill me... in etenamenki... (he looks at setsuna emotionlessly) the one who gave birth to you and me... adam kadmon, is waiting for you... (he ascends into the sky in a bubble with katan)
setsuna (yell after them) : WAIT!! [I...] rocie... (struggling to even get up, yelling into the sky as anagura collapses around him) rociel...!! ROCIEL...!! [...feeling the hatred so strong that I could not even breath and the extreme desire to kill that boils my blood... I lost conscious to the blankness.
(lastly was setsuna lying half dead in the background amongst a pile of rocks with the whole anagura falling down on top of him... and a closeup of kira's crystal, now shattered into many small pieces/shards)

yukie's note : the school year has begun which means yukie doesn't have much time to translate anymore, or else it could also mean that I'm back to my lazy ass self again and completely renewed the definition of "procrastination". i know people are very upset after this chapter, it seems like kira is really dead for good with hell falling apart and stuff and I can't say you are wrong, those who like kira for who he is, he really is gone and will come back again, ever. however for a twisted minded girl like me, i'm still waiting for something even better to happen.

(the last scene you will ever see of kira-senpai, and the nanatsusaya crystal shattering into a thousand pieces)

(last scene before rociel left with alexiel's body)

(I know this whole chapter is very chaotic but the balance of the world is broken so what do you want? the model of the world is becoming twisted... somewhere in an office, the angel border patrol still doesn't know what's going on)
angel : w... what the hell is this...!! a worldwide earthquake!? the empire of darkness is attacking!?
rociel (somewhere) : no...

(if you've seen the world diagram, all those lines that are like strings connecting the various levels of heaven and hell are the chains that bind them and what the demons did was broken free from that position)

text : even if heaven and earth broke, the land in that form greedily sucks in thousands of lives---------
(a beam of light shoots up into the clouds, the cities right now? think X, buildings buried in sand... that's pretty much how things are like after the "end of the world" like disaster)
angel patrol 1 (kills demon) : eh... geez, how did this happen, we kill and we kill and the demons just keep on coming.
angel patrol 2 : let's get going already, you know he'll be in a bad mood if he has to wait and then someone will die.
angel patrol 1 (suddenly points) : ...hey! what... is that...!
(there is a huge sphere of light in the distance of what looks like a big explosion)
angel patrol 1 : the ball of light disappeared!! let's go look. (jumps down the cliff and runs towards it)

text : hm... is it painful? do you hate me? (setsuna lies face down unconsciously at the center of the crater, rociel's evil face appears again) I'm the one who killed your sister and your senpai. (the few angels surrounds setsuna)

moonliel : no wonder, with that riot I heard many people died down there.
sara (not listening) : [what is this feeling in my chest...!!]
moonliel : that was an amazing earthquake and I thought I was going to die then, it was terrifying. (suddenly door bursts open)
sara (look up) : !
moonliel : kyaahh!!
(a few men in black trenchcoats broke into the room, one of them held a gun to moonliel's head, taking her as hostage, another holds up a warrant)
angels : ex-Great Cherubim, the angel of water of the elements, jibrille-dono, by the order of the great seraphim council chairman sevotharte, you are to be taken in preparation to face trial. any attemps of resistance or disobedience will result in necessary actions, please come quietly.
moonliel : sara-sama! (an angel has the gun to moonliel's head and covers her mouth)
sara : please let that child go, I won't run or hide. (just as she was escorted out, she stopped) ...a song?
angel 1 : it's really coming from somewhere
angel 2 : seems like a woman singing... (music flows in from outside the window)
angel 3 : I think it's coming from outside the window...
(hidden in the grass outside is alexiel's earring that held the scale from nydd hogg and music is coming from it... scene switch back to setsuna. he has one wing on his back and glaring up at the angels fiercely)
angel patrol 2 (backs off) : u... uwahhhhhh
(suddenly... setsuna is KOed from behind, michael stands behind him with a mask on his face holding his big sword, only his eyes are showing and the expression in them is super cold)
angel patrol 3 (they are all happy to see him) : boss!!
angel patrol 2 (draws gun) : heh! looks like he's not dead yet! I'll give you a taste of this thing... (michael suddenly elbows him in the stomach, he falls down hurt)
angel patrol 3 : ...!
michael (glares back, the look in his eyes is so dark and scary, this is not the michael you know) : I have business with this not yet dead messiah, hurry up and carry him. (walks off)
angel patrol 2 : what has gotten into michael-sama lately...! he's even more scary this way than the usual angry yelling...!
angel patrol 3 (carrying setsuna) : anyway, let's just do as he says.
angel patrol 2 : ...yeah.
(kamael looks in michael's direction silently... scene change)
someone : ...wake up! (setsuna opens his eyes slowly, his wounds have been wrapped up) ...do you know who I am, fucking messiah, long time no see...
(setsuna looks up, the room is very bright to him and he barely makes out a figure... short red hair, tattoo on the face... duh~)
setsuna : [what is this place...? my vision... it's so colorful...! I can't pull my head together...!!
michael : are you beaten stupid?
(setsuna gets a look around, he's sitting in a cage with one hand cuffed to the bars, his single wing is still spread on the back)
michael : we've fought back on earth a long time ago when you were still in alexiel's form. it was quite a mess with raphael and people all together... so I guess this is our first formal introduction. what a terrible state you are in, one wing torn and one eye blinded...
setsuna : [burning... my back is burning...!! where the wing was... the pain is like burning hot...! I can't think...!!!]
michael : it's practically suicide... to use your powers in one shot in that condition.
setsuna : [...then this means... that I'm still alive...]
michael : it's a huge burden on your body.
setsuna : uh...! [but... I don't feel happy about it at all... because it's so painful... but...] (struggles to look up) w... where... [why is michael here...?] is... this...!?
michael (looks down at him with a emotionless, dark expression) : looks like you don't know anything... this is heaven. you flew up here when anagura collapsed, protected by a strange light, saved you from the fall of hell!!
setsuna (looks up wide eyed) : [fall...!?]
michael : in order to prevent hell from completely breaking after losing the demon lord's support, those guys played their trump card. the seven satans abandoned the demon lord's body, servered the connection between heaven and hell and shifted the seven levels of land... and crashed into heaven.
setsuna : [!]
michael : the plates of heaven and hell are in an uneasy formation, the top two levels of hell and bottom two levels of heaven received the greatest damage and there's an incredible number of casulties.
(there is a diagram of the "new" world formation, where hell has shifted to the side and up, already raised above the earth, attached onto heaven from the side and the top levels are about half way up heaven, besides the plates that are destroyed, several plates are level with heaven)
michael : there is now a borderline drawn between heaven and hell and I've been real busy catching all the demons that cross over. the situation is on the break of blowing up.
setsuna (shock) : [t... then what about kurai... and katou and people...!?] (suddenly pain shot up his back) UH!!
michael (darkly) : that's the work of rociel, isn't it... he caused a big commotion in the high council by bringing back alexiel's body. (sitting above setsuna, on the cage) it made rociel's party rise in reputation... sevi's side on the other hand are anxious and decided to push forth the trial of jibrille. but now is really not the good time and place for this.
setsuna (yells) : push forth the trial...!?
michael (jump off) : yes, because sevi who's in opposition of rociel has a great chance of becoming the guardian of jibrille of the elements. (takes his sword) he wants to execute jibrille so he can receive her powers, in order to defeat rociel...!
setsuna (sweating) : [even so, michael...!!] ...I... [he's somehow different from the last time I saw him...?] what is it that you want from me...! (michael suddenly freezes) !?
(michael turns around, holding his sword, with a crazy smirk... and the insane aura is just flowing around him)
michael : you... last time, there was a black haired man holding a japanese sword together with you that day...! ...that bastard ...who is he to you?
setsuna (surprised) : [...a man... with japanese sword... and black hair...]
(flashback to when kira died...)
michael (yelling furiously) : ...answer me...!! do you really want me to cut you in half!! (waves sword down on setsuna)
setsuna (sits back, looking down, starts cracking up) : ...heh... heheh... there isn't such a person. (michael freezes, setsuna laughs) he is no longer here or anywhere. no longer... [everything was... back then...!] (cries) he will no longer come to save me, I will never see him again!! (michael looks at setsuna darkly) [by the hands of that man, rociel...!! it was all torn apart by his hand!!!]
michael (grit teeth) : what... did you say? in the... ruins of that anagura...?
(scene shifts to "the ruins of that anagura" ^^)
text : there isn't a single evil remaining. any living thing has been completely destroyed. (someone walks amongst the ruins) what has risen from those ruins? (the ambiguous figure picks up setsuna's broken wing) or is it just a trick of the eye...
(back to heaven...)
michael (complete in disbelief, very dark look on his face) : rociel... killed... him? (somewhere in anagura, someone walks up to where the broken crystal pieces still lies) that is ridiculous... hmmm!? I won't believe such a lie!!! how can that man die so easily!? I... I have to be the one who kills him... and put an end to that cursed war between heaven and hell!! (he got very upset and excited, he grabbed the bars to setsuna's cage and was shaking all over)
setsuna (looks up at him, a bit taken aback) : what is your relationship to senpai...!?
michael (clutches the cage bar tightly) : ...our relationship? (looks up shaking furiously, the aura around him completely changed) heaven's greatest flaw, the traitor lucifer... no one but I shall be the one to eliminates him! by the hands of his twin brother michael... this time...! (a kinda shaded picture of lucifer's eyes~ really cold and dark, very unlike kira sempai) that's right...!! back during the final battle of the first war of heaven and hell... I supposedly had defeated him...!!
(in a flashback, sketchy unclear back view of a group of people standing in shadow, the figure in the middle with the cape, one should be able to tell who he is by common sense)

yukie's note : indulge me, it's this stupid little note time again. i want to make some comments about kira and lucifer, both apparently are people's favorites (certainly more popular than setsuna). from what I've seen, there are usually two scenerios out there, treat them like the same guy and love him, but i don't think it's a valid take because they have completely different personalities; or else, treat them as two different people and thus those who like kira gets so pissed and decide not to read AS anymore (since he died), or those like me who love lucifer are so happy that he finally gets some page time. I won't go into detail as to how different they are, but it will be obvious once you continue reading (under the condition that I translate them first ^^;;)

Act I : The World Shaken, Part 5
setsuna (in shock, flashback) : [the face of the demon lord lucifer which kurai and I saw together in hell...!! which looked just like kira senpai... and it is because senpai was lucifer, that nanatsusaya which held his soul was sealed as a cursed sword!? and... he's this michael guy's twin brother...!? senpai is really the demon lord...? really!!?] ...heh... ahahahahaha what the hell are you saying! so maybe the demon lord lucifer does look like you and senpai, but you know how tall that guy is? and you're telling me that you used to be twins...?
michael (bangs the hilt of his sword on the cage angrily, with a crazed look) : that's right... that's what they all said back then... (cries out) "lucifiel-sama is so great at everything... and michael-sama... is that really the prince who's destined to bare fire amongst the elements?"... they said.
text : everyone simply didn't notice, the true face that was hidden behind that icy beauty. (sketch of lucifiel's face) yes, simply no one noticed that that man was a devil since birth.
(someone stood covered in mist)
lucifiel (flashback) : it's only a game. as long as I win in the end.
text : ---only I knew---
lucifiel (emerges out of the mist, he's so cute!! *_*) : ...I can kill anyone. be it the people I care about or the people I love, even my brother, (closer view of his face, he's looking at his own hand, eyes frighteningly emotionless) I can kill them.
(a festival in heaven, all gathers to watch the great lucifiel being presented with the highest honor. this chapter is basically a series of recollections of lucifer's past as "lucifiel" in heaven from michael's point of view)
angel : michael-sama!! look, the High Council has chosen lucifiel-sama as the greatest of the archangels! that is a position of the highest honor among angels second only to adam kadmon-sama!!
(there was lucifiel, in uniform holding up a cross staff that represents his glory, on his shoulder is a odd looking bird -_- michael stood among the people below looking up at him with a rather lost expression, unlike the happiness that everyone else was showing)
text : lucifiel's future lies before him in glory, and no one was able to oppose him. he had both the favor of the populace and leadership qualities. the brilliance of his charisma was far superior to other angels. ---he was the angel of the bright morning star, the incarnation of brilliance and glory---
michael : [I beheld his brilliance then, and could not take my eyes off him---]
text : when the two of them were born, the elder of the High Council looked with his eyes that can see the future. of the two princes that were born, one is the messenger of light, and one is the messenger of darkness. the prince of darkness will cover everything in his darkness and lead the universe into chaos. he will become the eternal Enemy who will bring this world to destruction.
michael : [since when I was young, I have always thought that I was the cursed one--- while having the same genes, I had been growing extremely slowly and my brother had already begun to show his genius gift. (image of michael running after lucifiel) even I who had chased after him at first eventually became rebellious against my all-capable brother---- (something breaks, michael looks at it with a rather dark look) I knew it was the pathetic jealousy of a little brat...]
(note: michael doesn't have a tattoo when he's young, in the next panel, a bird gets killed, its blood splashed in michael's face, he seems stunned)
michael (to lucifiel who was cleaning his hands) : ----w... why...? didn't you say you really liked it... (the dead bird lied on the ground, in the background was the broken pieces of the object)
lucifiel : didn't you say that he was responsible for this? that was a gift from god... it's a crime that he must pay by death. (then he picks up a pendent from the mess and throws it at michael who catches it in surprise) you forgot this, michael. (he was almost smirking, michael looks up at him in shock and anger)
text : that was his way. nothing can escape him, yet he doesn't confront his opponent directly and knows how to make them suffer even more. (lucifiel walks out of the picture with a smile, setsuna continues listening uneasily) he doesn't care about anything, nor does he like anything. there hasn't been anyone who can reach side of him.
michael (smirk) : I knew of a man who was determined to have his acceptance. he was a foolish man who took his own life after "that incident".
text : the man who called himself lucifiel's close friend had always fought with him for first place when they were in officer school. because of the built up persistance that he couldn't win no matter what, he finally challenged my brother to a dual on graduation day. but I and everyone else can already seen the results. however, unexpectedly the winner was that man. the place was in a uproar and he seemed wild in the ecstasy of victory. (image of a sword fight and a man comes out laughing) but the truth was quite different.
someone : wait!! the sword that lucifiel-sama used was only an iron sword for practice...! that means lucifiel-sama hadn't used astral power at all...
someone else : that's impossible!! isn't that like fighting bare handed against a chariot!
the friend : ! (coughs up blood, from the shock and shame)
lucifiel (puts on his cape and leaves) : you really wanted to win, didn't you? because you always stayed at my side continued playing a good friend to escape from your own failure. (the man looks up at him with hatred)
text : he...
lucifiel : did you have a good dream of victory, "my dear friend".
text : ...doesn't see anyone.
michael : after that, that man committed suicide. (lucifiel's lips curled up slightly in a really cold smile)
text : he smiled, in that cold manner as always.
bal : he is somehow different from us. yes, somehow. his eyes--- seems to be always looking off far away---
text : bal. she's a low officer who's served us since we were young. she's the only one who didn't treat us differently. (she's a woman with a kind smile, long hair, wearing officer uniform) she was unusually frightened of my brother. (scene where lucifiel walks by and bal immediately hides around the corner) those who are born as a high angel, at the age when their power has reached its max, their bodies will stop growing in most cases and be sustained in that form for a long time. (ie. michael can't grow anymore)
(somewhere in a room, bal's tending to michael)
bal : did you get into a fight again?
text : with a body which time has already stopped for at the absolute age too soon, I was evermore self conscious when facing him.
bal : there shouldn't be anyone now who can face up to michael-sama, who was born with the gift of the angel of fire.
michael : I just know! they're saying things in the shadows when they see me!
bal (smile kindly) : does it really matter what other people think?
text : whether it was then or now, bal never changed.
bal : michael-sama, you are just yourself.
text : bal stayed at my side even more than aniki *older brother*
michael (leans back) : hmph.
text : much more than aniki...
(scene changes, heaven is now at war, the angels fighting other angels who now have demon wings... this is the first war of heaven and hell)
text : and then it began. the separation of heaven and earth, the fight of the first angels who rebelled against god. the first war of heaven and hell. commander of the fallen angels, the ex-great seraphim lucifiel took on the name for himself as lucifer, the lord of darkness. he led the enemies of god, his 133,306,668 comrades into a deadly battle with the angels. following lucifer were such mighty angels that even heaven trembles before them. I volunteered to lead my army of powers into the final battleground.
bal (runs after him) : please stop this, you are brothers to kill each other...!!
michael (doesn't listen) : shut up! he's not going to die any other way except by my hand!!
bal : if that must be, then take me with you! show me the two people that I've sworn to serve for life! I want to see the reality with my own eyes!
text : the endless fight to the death continued---- thousands and thousands of angels, their lives passed away---- and finally----
(on the night of a great moon at the final battleground, there was lucifer with his wings spread out wide behind him majestically, waiting)
lucifer : ---so it is you at last, who've come to the very end, michael.
michael (jumps into the fight) : no one make a move!! this guy... he's going to fall by my hand!! *punch*
bal (on the side, mouth wide open like everyone else) : [michael-sama...!! no...]
michael : [I'm different now, I'm strong, certainly just as strong as aniki... I'm different from all the angels that you tramped over. I can win, and this time I'm going to draw out the truth from you.] (a great aura soared around him as he took up his sword) WHY DID YOU BETRAY US!!! ANIKI!!!
(in the explosion, he couldn't see very well with all the smoke clouds, but he saw a shadow figure move on the other side and he was certain that that was his chance)
michael : LUCIFIEL!!! (stab) [NOW!!!]
(with his sword slash, blood was spilled and a woman in front of lucifer fell back. michael's eyes widened in shock. note that he has a tattoo now and looks like the same mika-chan of present day ^^)
bal : lucifiel-sama... (falls down) I'm glad... you're alrig... *thud* (her blood splashed on michael's face and he thinks back...) [michae-sama...] lucifiel-sama is always looking off to somewhere far away... he's just somehow different...
text : bal, you... I see... (flashback of bal always looking after lucifiel from far away) you liked aniki, didn't you... (blood drips off michael) now I wonder what kind of an expression does he have, to be cut by the little brother that he always thought so lowly of. it should be the first time ever since he was born, to bear a face of shame... surely...
(he looked up, and as always, lucifer smiled at him coldly and so despisingly *not a real word but you get the picture*, michael's eyes go wide until he grabs his head and screams in madness)
michael : UWAAAHHHHHHHHHH
(end of his entire flashback, he bangs on setsuna's cage)
michael : NO!! ...I did defeat him that time!!! I won!! his... his smile was only self-pity from loss!
setsuna (silent) : [lucifiel... that is the demon lord lucifer...!! and that... that man...]
michael (yells) : I did win!!!
setsuna : [...is said to be senpai? (flashback of kira with a quite gentle look)] heh... (michael freezes) ...isn't it because you don't think that you've won, that you try so hard to make excuses for yourself...? (smirk) because you just hate to be a loser... but you are just a loser. [fall before the overwhelming power of your opponent, like insects. we are the same.] and you don't even have the courage to face it, you're a coward!!
michael (jump up) : y... you bastard!! SILENCE------!!! (surge of power) what... what do you really know about me!!!
(setsuna covers his eyes from the light, kamael suddenly shows up and holds michael in check)
kamael : michael-sama!!! you cannot kill him!! the prime minister's orders are to hand him over once we find him... (michael glares fiercely at setsuna in the cage, trying to control his temper) kill him... as for sevi, nothing ever happened...!! (runs out) got it!! cut off his head and pierce his heart, kill him!! kamael!
setsuna (shifts a little in the cage) : uh...! [t... the wound on my foot...!! (his foot's bleeding) the wound made back in anagura opened...! there's a rock or something in the cut...]
(he picks out... a broken fragment of kira's life crystal... meanwhile in the ruins of anagura, a female figure wanders...)
mysterious figure : ...my-lord?
(meanwhile... elsewhere in heaven...)
sara : you will keep your promise, won't you, promise that you will free lil when the trial is over. (she's sitting in a chair, finely dressed, speaking to sevi through a large monitor on the wall)
sevi : rather than worrying about other people, shouldn't you be a bit more concerned about your own soon to face judgment. regardless of the situation, incest is a heavy crime, naturally even more so in heaven. it is a crime will receive capital punishment.
sara (her eyes are very clear, like she's found her path and no longer lost) : but that has yet to be decided. and I really plan to say even in the presence of god, I don't care if he is my real brother, I just like setsuna that's all... and it just happened that we were bound by the same blood... I confess without lying to my own heart. I am not ashamed and no matter what others say, I will fight until the very end. (looks up at sevi with determination) I will not lose to a dictator who hides behind a mask. setsuna will surely say the same.
(communication is cut, on the other end, sevi sits before a control panel, there's someone else present in the room)
sevotharte : ...stubborn little girl, yet another side of jibrille. ...but there will be some negative influences if confidential information is to be passed around that jibrille was imprisoned and reincarnated as mudou sara... thus I want to see a display of loyalty on your part. (angle switches to raphael, eyeing sevi darkly) guardian angel of the wind, raphael of the four elements. even one as yourself can no longer escape, because your assistant knows everything about you.
raphael : my assistant... barbiel, she should still be alive?
sevotharte : well... maybe I read it directly from her mind, your information that is. (raphael looks at him angrily) ...hahah, only a joke. her survival depends entirely on your cooperation... (gives raphael a bottle) you will meet jibrille before the trial and make her drink this saying that it's a tranquilizer. ...what, it's only to prevent some unnecessary words. because it appears that she places her trust in you... (walks away) understand? she must drink it.
raphael (grips the bottle) : [to that... mudou sara...!!? (has a flashback)]
sara (cutely) : [you're totally different from the image of raphie-kun that I learned in school!]
(back to michael's place, kamael *holding true to his terminator role* points his machine gun at setsuna)
kamael : forgive me. (setsuna is in a pinch~) it is my master's order. I will make it quick...
(blood splashed on setsuna's face, kamael looks at some pointy things poke out the front of his chest in disbelief)
kamael : wha...
(eh... blood, a hand... very pointy long nails ^^;; a strange woman, not very human *eyes are blank, soulless, puppet-like*, appears before setsuna and breaks his handcuffs, setsuna is stunned speechless)
woman : are-you-my-master. are-you... the-one-who-had-awakened-me.

yukie's note : my beloved lucifer-sama~~~~~~~ *faint* no, no, do not mistake this for some girly obsession, i've gone beyond that now, my love for lucifer-sama = pure worship ^^ i await for more of his appearance in coming up volumes, btw, michael's name in japanese is pronounced mi-ka-e-ru... i always thought that "michael-sama" sounds kinda funny cuz in my head the characters were saying mikaeru-sama -_-
