(attack fuuko) from your shoulder to left hand!!! right hand!!! your body will slowly lose control! your life is slipping away!!! (both mikotos beat up fuuko, fuuko punch back at the madougu, not seeming to have any effect) those weak punches can't harm my mikoto!! ahahahah, this is the greatest feeling. stepping on weak humans!! such pleasant enjoyment!

(on the uruha side of the court)

joker : ...i've been thinking about this, but that nee-san just gets on my nerves. is it really alright to let someone like that into the uruha jyushinshuu? kurei-san.

audience (all freeze for a second) : ...... t... that's right.......! we believe in you, fuuko's gonna be alright!! (all cheered up) WAVE THE FLAG------!! FUUKOOOOOOOO
yanagi (cheered up too) : oh...
tokiyo (telling the sobbing domon) : brave kid. now you'll be an embarrassment if you keep on crying.
domon (T.T) : yeah. (sob) [those voices... (smile) do you hear that? can you hear that!? FUUKO!!]

(meanwhile some distance away)

ganko : HEY--- are you listening? kon-chan!! (talking to a stuffed fox, kondo making his first appearance in the manga) that was so mean, how long is it gonna take them to come back! fuuko baka, baka, baka, baka!! tokiya : fuuko has saved her strength for that last moment. she really believed that mikoto had the antidote madougu!
fuuko : using such an easily self endangering madougu--- that sneaky woman wouldn't use it unless she has some safety insurance. that was a really dangerous risk. if you didn't take out the antidote before I died, then it's over. bad luck to you for calling me ugly!! yahahahaha.
mikoto (eating another antidote) : grrr...!! MIKOTO!!! (the madougu jump at fuuko) KILL HER!! IT'S UNFORGIVABLE TO EMBARRASS ME!!!
fuuko (use up another small crystal) : SHUT THE HELL UP, BITCH---!! (fuujin appears)
domon : that's the third...... fuuko crystal!!?
fuujin : technique... kazadama *wind spirit*!!

(a blast of air pressure energy aimed at mikoto, the human madougu raises her fan to block it)

mikoto : stupid fuuko! fuujin won't work on mikoto!! did you forget that the iron wall of the fan blocked your kamaitachi!? (but this was different... the fan completely shattered to pieces) both canceled!? (shocked)
fuuko (take out another small crystal) : just one more left now--- don't worry. I'll find your main form! fuujin-chan.
fuujin (appears again) : technique...... hayate--- (and wind blades slashes mikoto to pieces, all the audience, especially keishuu are in a happy-shock)
mikoto : mi... mikoto----! (rush over) G...!!

nemi (jump up) : enna!!? (enna's grabbing her throat)
kukai : [how dirty...! a poison needle...!!
mikoto : the referee didn't pronounce fuuko the winner yet!! the fight hasn't been determined until the very end! well!! the counting!!
nemi (trembling violently) : ...... 1...... (looks down) ...2... (the audience all in shock) 3......
aki : that was really rotten.
tsukishiro : the female version of mokuren.
nemi : 4...... (keishuu praying, eyes close, too hard to watch) ...5... 6... (raiha watches quietly, expression unreadable) 7......
domon : FUUKO, GET UPPPP!!!

(but fuuko is suddenly standing behind her, and grabs her hair)

(kaoru looks at joker across the arena, then fix his anki into chain form and use it to jump down from the hokage corner)

kaoru : hn. (jump)
fuuko : koganei...
kaoru (walk up, cat face) : TOUCH *change it up*!! (slap fuuko)
fuuko : ......... we're depending on you.
kaoru (fangs showing) : it's unlike you, fuuko nee-chan! it's more like you to say something like "go kick their butt".

fuuko (walking away) : then go kick their butt!!

domon (looking back, sweatdrop) : [you asked for it, idiot.] (he means the BIG bump on kaoru's head)

[w... what!? I can't control the dragons!!]

(the old man beats him back again)

old man : you have to understand the concept of the flame dragons!! the flame dragons have their rules of existence! you can't easily call them out at the same time! breaking the rules have counter effects!! however if you go by the rules, depending on the power of the caster, you can summon more than two dragons a time! [rule number 1, you have to summon them in negation of the order that you received them!! RECCA : ......... so that's the form of your flame...? amazing. I want it. and I'm gonna get it, old man kokuu!! I'LL USE IT TO BEAT KUREI!!!

yukie's note : I know joker's really goofy most of times, but he is just SOOOOO different when he's serious ^.^ (yeah, raiha's goofy too, but I can imagine when he gets serious...) joker on the other hand... he's like 2 different people, he looks so cool when he's serious and so funny *SUPER FUNNY/DEFORMED* when he's goofy... no wonder he's my second favorite character... *sigh* when I first started to translate FOR, I was afraid that he wouldn't get much recognition because of the lack of knowledge most people have of the manga and his little screen time in the anime, but guess I was wrong ^.^ he's got lots of fans... (wonder why there's no joker fan club...)
it's amazing and just like I said long ago... (like in the end note of one of the earlier volumes) my favorite character is raiha, second is joker, third is kurei, fourth is rasen... and errr... haven't decided on a fifth one... but I think it's amazing how all of them are uruha people in a story about the hokages titled flame of RECCA... *sigh again* (not that I don't LIKE the hokages, just not my favorites)
again, joker is so cool ^.^ I really enjoy translating his story and raiha's...

audiences : this... this jyuunishi has no body lines... I can't look...... ushino is the sexiest of the jyuunishi. she's big. no, inoko-chan's great! (one's the type that go for big breasts, the other goes for little girls T.T)
midori (pissed off) : got a problem, assholes!!

midori : then...... the co-captain fight, joker vs. koganei...!! BEGIN!!!
joker (pause) : TIME *meaning time out*. (and midori falls head over)

mikoto (screaming, and flying off) : GAAAAAAA
audience (all moving aside) : u... WAAAA---! (and mikoto lands with a big kaboom in the middle of the uruha crowd) hey, she's alive, she's alive. she's pretty tough. however... (joker's smiling and waving down in the ring) he's really an unpredictable strange guy!!
kaoru : ...... alright? then we can begin.
joker (whistling) : [heh--- no fun. I didn't scare him at all.] ...... yeah, yeah. let's go.
midori : BEGIN!!

(joker and kaoru immediately make contact many times within seconds. next thing you know, each of them falls back a few steps)

joker : battle level------ UP! (and the eye on his trident suddenly seemed to open wide)
kaoru : !?
audience : what's going on!? that weapon...!!
joker (quietly, silently, holding his trident and smile) : come on.
midori : ...?
domon : what's with him? he seems to get serious!?
yanagi : hn...
fuuko : ...what do you think? mi-chan.
tokiya : he's different. completely different from the joker before. [battle level up... what does he mean?]
kaoru (attack) : YA!! here I come, joker!! well, how will you counter!? (suddenly change anki into the scissors) third form, kyoku!! (but joker is just so calm... and suddenly...)
joker (holding the scissors back with his bare hands) : like this.
audience (shocking) : h... he stopped it!! and with bare hands!!?
kaoru : ...!!? [w... what's this feeling... strange... like my body's not here...]
joker (throws kaoru back) : hoii!

kaoru : ...... (thinks for a moment) [let me... try it!!] (throws out kougon anki in chain form) RYU!!!
joker (very arrogantly) : what a monkey. you can't do much repeating the same thing.
kaoru (picks up a rock meanwhile) : [if my guess...]
kurei : !?
kaoru (throws the rock at joker) : [is correct!!]
joker (who just caught ryu in one hand, didn't expect the rock... which lightly hits and then bounces off his chest) : ERRR!?
domon (super deformed) : THE STONE...
fuuko (super deformed too) : IS FLOATING---!? (yep, it's floating ^.^)
kagero : [so that's what happened... (relief)]
joker : ......... so the cover's blown? (the rock lightly falls on the ground)
kaoru : your power is not super strength! (smile) you're real power is------ GRAVITY CHANGE!!

yukie's note : now, this is obviously not in the anime, needless to say, so I've gotta make a note...
joker's gravity changing ability is really creating a field with his madougu and within that field, he can control the gravity freely.
now... when in that field... which he used a few times with kaoru already and that time with J-kipa... the background is different with a strange haze, indicating that they are inside a kekkai *barrier/field*... but before you knew he can create such a field, you won't notice it, just thinking it's nice looking background... but now knowing it's gravity change... you would notice when that field is up, and they are up every time he did something incredible.
if you look back... those people with the manga, they are the earlier hints that something is amiss...

Volume 14 Chapter 8 : Freedom of Existence

kaoru : your power is not super strength!! joker, your real power is...... gravity change.
audience : gravity... change?
fuuko : ... what's that?
kagero : ------I see... that trident controls gravity. one of the utter most difficult madougus----- TAISHAKU KAITEN------
kaoru (attack) : no wonder I thought something's wrong! (joker blocks) no matter how strong you are...... with that physique, you can't possibly block J - kipa's attack so easily!!
joker : heheh, (block again) BINGO!! (taishaku kaiten suddenly glows and locks kaoru in a kekkai)
kaoru : !? (falls down) AHHH!! [uh... my body's... heavy!!]
joker : impressive, koganei-kun!! n~~~nice. I'll reward you by telling ya. madougu taishaku kaiten! (raise the trident) it's very strong. it can reduce the weight of the opponent's attack to level 0...... and it can also multiply your weight like now!!
domon : how come his madougu's so convenient!? then it means he can't feel any weight at all!!?
kagero : that's right. taishaku kaiten only works within a certain time and range! which means it creates a temporary gravity kekkai. although speed is an important weapon for kaoru-chan...... joker is his worst possible opponent.

joker (jump back) : hey!
kaoru : I will... defeat you!!

(kurei standing on top of the uruha corner)

kurei : [............. sly guy, joker... you planned this, it need some thinking to get him to go wild.]
joker (flashback) : [there's actually someone who can make you mind... I'm really interested.]
kurei : [and you wanted to fight him!! you felt that way after watching koganei's earlier fights. and you stabbed saicho to provoke him! you did all this to plant yourself as the object of his vengence!!] interesting guy------ heheh... remind me of our first meeting......

(flashback *YAY* finally, we see where joker's from... unless you read my fanfic ^.^ joker and jisho face to face, both in the middle of a fight)

joker (jisho breathing heavily) : heheh, continue, nii-san!
text : that guy appeared out of nowhere, and opposed the uruha. killed a number of soldiers, and finally met with one of the jyushinshuu, jisho. the hard battle lasted for two days--- their powers are matched.

(joker and jisho both lay on the ground exhausted, kurei enters the scene)

joker : hn?
kurei : you're good... what's your name?
jisho (shock) : k... kurei-sama!!
joker : huh? who are you? give your own name first when you ask others.
jisho : damn you, kurei-sama is...
kurei (takes his mask off for joker) : pleasant guy. I am... kurei.
text : afterwards... I baited him to enter the jyushinshuu, he agreed unexpectedly without any problems. it seemed as if that was his original intention for attacking the uruha. then jisho said... "that guy was never serious when we fought." before he entered the uruha, that guy had two conditions---
joker : kurei-san. I've always lived freely. doing whatever I like. I'm joining because it looks like fun, I might leave if it gets boring! and one more thing... (joker without his mask or cap for the first and only time... *you see his hair!!! wow!!!* but his braids still cover his eyes... nonetheless...) can I always be casual with you? it's painful to be respectful.
text (ending the flashback) : like the flowing cloud--- freedom. that is joker. freedom to live... freedom to fight. his heart is unpredictable like the cloud.
kurei : you're just like that--- I like it.

(meanwhile, joker used another gravity change on kaoru)

kaoru (floating) : !! now it's.... light!!
joker : this is called anti-gravity! now you feel like being in a spaceship. (knocks kaoru down)
yanagi (worried) : kaoru-chan!! (stop) ah...
kaoru (getting up) : it's alright. yanagi-chan.
joker : huh?
kaoru : I WON'T LOSE, I'M A GENIUS!! (yanagi smiles)
domon : he seems energetic enough, that kid. (smile)
joker (smile) : hmph.
kurei : [...... koganei......]

man 1 : yeah... (look at kaoru who's tired and exhausted)
domon (sweating) : not good. no matter how strong koganei is--- he's just a kid!!
yanagi (being an idiot) : why is that not good? domon-kun.
domon : that's ovious!! strength! stamina!! adults and children are different!! [domon-chan's explanation] no matter how he trains, he can't keep a lot of strength, so for him, the long the fight drags, the worse the situation!

fuuko : idiot. he means that he's rushing for revenge, right?

kaoru (stuggle) : [it got heavy!!] uh... DAMN! (holds himself up with kougon anki)
joker : empty threats... that's probably why you'd lose. you're about exhausted... time for farewell. (big scary smile) adios. (suddenly something seems to fall out of kaoru's pocket... and comes crashing down on joker's head... *I see his eyes now, though that doesn't say much ^^;;;*) !? (a very VERY *ewwwww* deformed face... ouch, that must hurt, joker falls down and rolls around on the ground) OUCH, OUCH, OOOOUCH!
kaoru (big eyes) : ?
audience : !? what? it's like something hit him.
midori (crawling on the ground, examining what just hit joker) : hn... (pick it up) this is--- a crane... (paper one of course) a folded crane... that fell with a lot of weight...
kaoru : ! (remembers when saicho gave it to him)
text : here... a good luck charm...... do your best......
kaoru (fist tight) : [thanks... for saving me...]

(suddenly a voice)

voice : asahina no ------
yanagi (surprised) : that poem... (veryone's shocked...)
voice : ton o jyuuzu jyuu yosete...

(everyone looks up, and at the entrance of the arena, there was the kuu team, holding saicho.)

saicho : hyaku nin riki no ------ tsuru no montari! *I'm too lazy at this point to translate this... it's a poem...* I read a poem when I need to concentrate. the poem I read now... is wishing you victory. I'm back... kaoru-kun.

RECCA------ you finally reacquired us. praise worthy. you've grow even stronger from when you first came here! now let your body rest. when you open your eyes again...... it'll be time for the final battle! the strongest flame master kurei!! don't be careless... recca! before that...... we'll give you the final test---]

(while in the arena, kaoru smiles at saicho. and gives him the Y *peace* symbol. saicho nods and kaoru step forward)

kaoru : ALRIGHT!! LET'S GO---!!
joker : hmph!! [w... what's that aura!? d... difficult kid.]
domon : he's really energetic.
fuuko : because he's relieved. he's doing his best!!
yanagi (cheer) : kaoru-chan, FIGHT!!

(saicho almost falls, but fujimaru catches him)

saicho : ! fujimaru...
fujimaru : don't be so reckless when you're still injured! you should have total rest! you can't even stand straight! don't be stupid!! if you are in such a hurry to die, I can kill you. if not, then stay low!! (vein)
saicho : ......... (smile) alright.
minamio : you're such a liar, fujimaru.
daikoku : you must really liked to pick on girls when you were young?
fujimaru (super deformed) : don't spread these easily misleading rumors!!!

(kaoru and joker continues fighting, kaoru in one swift stroke knocked taishaku kaiten out of joker's hand)

(it falls to the ground, joker smiles)

kaoru (cat face) : go ahead and pick it up! I'll wait for you!!
audience : wh...at? that's wasted~~~. that's a chance. I don't get it.
tokiya : oh boy. (chuckle) [well... this is more like him.]

joker : hmph... [what the... he's doing better without anything on his mind! (sweating, *guess his plan to stab saicho to provoke kaoru didn't really working*) then this means that there was no point in my stabbing saicho. *hehehe, not what he expected*
kaoru : four, BOOMERANG!!
joker : interesting! INTERESTING, KOGANEI-KUN!! I didn't make a mistake about you!! (raise taishaku kaiten, suddenly a big blast of his energy)
audience (shock) : s... so big!! it's so big, that kekkai!!
kagero : [he's seriously made the decisive move! amazing guy... he was able to make such a big kekkai... (sweat)]
joker (his kekkai about covers the whole ring, kaoru standing on the tight rim... and it's still growing) : well, gravity kekkai plus's super hyper mode!! nowhere to run! you'll be pushed off like this!! ...though it's a little difficult for myself too being in the middle. (sweating, breathing heavily) give up now!
audience (hopeless) : aaah... it's bad... I knew koganei couldn't... only if recca was here... (some others don't like the hopeless type) you can shut up at a time like this!!

(kaoru transforms again)

kaoru : fifth form... AN! MAKYUU *magical bow*!!
joker (slowly raise the trident) : ...i see. then this is stubbornness!! do what you wish, I like you, koganei-kun, but... (one more blast of the kekkai energy) IT JUST CAN'T BE HELPED---!!
kaoru : [I WILL WIN!! FINE, I'LL SHOW YOU!! (point the arrow at joker) THE SIXTH FORM!!]
