taishaku-ten : hanranya, what do you see?
hanranya (looking into her water mirror) : there are two stars, and, those stars will join with one blue star......
taishaku-ten : those... are the six stars?
hanranya (bows) : yes.
taishaku-ten : heheh...... heh. (smiles) you're saying those six stars will destroy me...... destroy the heaven that I rule?
hanranya : that was the final prophecy of the last stargazer, kuyo.
taishaku-ten : kuyo...... for three hundred years after the last emperor's death, she continued to defy my orders, the stargazer who was locked inside the water cell underneath this city. kuyo's prophecy has never been wrong.

ashura : we're going! (waving back at yasha-ou and souma)
souma (after they're gone) : is it really alright to let those two go alone? we don't know when the emperor's military pursuits will attack......
yasha-ou (quite calm) : it's alright. ever since we left rasetsu, ashura has been trying even harder to be ashura. he doesn't want to depend on me. he wants to have me depend on him one day.
souma : he said similar things before. I'm always being protected right now, but some day, I'll become strong enough to protect yasha-ou. and then no one important to me will die anymore. he told me in tears. but ashura is strong enough now already. to be placed into such a cruel fate at such a young age, and even so he's trying so hard to protect the things important to him. (meanwhile, ashura and ryu-ou went to get fire wood, and ashura's very diligent in his work)
ryu-ou (sweatdrop) : aren't you a hard worker. what's gone into you?
ashura (getting his hair out of his face) : because there's so little that ashura knows how to do, I must do the best on what I can do.
ryu-ou (looks lost) : when did you become so grown up.
ashura (smile) : I promised rasetsu, I believe in yasha.
text (of rasetsu) : yasha's important younger brother...... a bit like yasha.
ashura (suddenly excited) : hey, ryu-chan, do you have siblings?
ryu-ou (surprised.. point to himself going, ME?!) : I'm the only child. (family tree in the background, grandfather with 2 daughters, the older had two sons who you should be able to guess, and the younger had ryu-ou) but I have two cousins who are like my brothers...
ashura : what are they like!?
ryu-ou (lots of sweatdrops) : one gets angry really easily and talks a lot, the other one always chats with me but only teaches me useless stuff......
ashura (sweatdrop) : [that sounds bad]
ryu-ou (thinking mode... narration supported by mini comic panels ^.^) : there's more, when me and seiryuu are always fighting over the snacks, hakuryuu would take advantage of us and act all cool afterwards...... but then seiryuu is really slow so hakuryuu always gets mad at him, but hakuryuu is horrible when he just woke up, and he's got a quicker temper than seiryuu, so they're about even in the end.
ashura : hey, ryu-chan.
ryu-ou : what?
ashura : do you know about ashura's brother?
ryu-ou (surprised) : [eh!? ashura's brother is...... the one in zenmijou...... (pictures tenou)]
(flashback to when he was studying)
hakuryuu : during the holy war three hundred years ago, ashura clan's miko, shashi who is suppose to be ashura-ou's queen, betrayed the ashura clan. she had an affair with taishaku-ten and gave birth of tenou.
seiryuu : born together with that tenou was the deceased ashura-ou's son. however the moment this last member of the ashura clan was born, he disappeared. some rumors say that he was killed by shashi herself. he would be the same age as tenou if he's still alive. but perhaps he'd be more happy being dead.
hakuryuu : from the time he was born, his whole clan became a taboo and was annihilated, and his half brother is the son of taishakuten who killed his father ashura-ou.
(end of flashback... an image of ashura and tenou, being each other's reflection in water)
ryu-ou : [even though they're twins, ashura and tenou was born to be enemies I can't tell ashura this.]
ashura : ? ryu-chan?
ryu-ou : [even if he's going to find out one day...]
(he suddenly jumps up as he feels a presence behind him and draws his sword... only to frighten a stranger girl)
girl : !
ryu-ou : [a human...... girl!?] (surprise)
(later)
souma (sees them returning) : oh, good work...... (pause) [another person!?]
yasha-ou (on guard) : [who is it!?]
(the girl walks toward them holding on to ashura's hand, and holding some twigs... looks like they've become good friends)
souma (whisper) : ryu-ou...... who's that?
ryu-ou : we met her when we were picking fire wood, and ashura just started chatting with her.
souma (still whispering) : taishakuten's pursuits might be here anytime, in this case, isn't it a little inappropriate......

ryu-ou : which means, (thinking) we go where ashura wants to go, and let him do whatever he wants... (point accusingly at yasha-ou) you will spoil him like that. he will become a bad kid.

(at night... when everyone's asleep, ashura climbs out of bed)

(shara is standing outside on top of the hill holding a lamp high in her hand)
ashura (run up behind her) : sha-----ra
shara (falls over, sweatdrop) : ahhhh. (hugs ashura) oh, you scared me. can't sleep?

(and while she's just got this super inflated ego that thinks she can do all this... she didn't know that someone was watching her from on top a column, kujaku's here ^.^ and he's got a pretty serious/dangerous look which turns into a slight smile... then he disappears, leaving only a few black feathers behind. meanwhile in taishakuten's room, his eyes are half closed, and he's in a state of deep memory/dream. he was fighting ashura-ou and ashura-ou pulled out the shura-tou... they fight, and taishakuten couldn't even get close to ashura-ou, he's wounded not too deeply but all over the body... and he has this amazed/surprised look on his face... then ashura-ou says something, he looks rather sad, they fight again, and then a super big blast of energy...... when everything clears, taishakuten's sword has stabbed through ashura-ou. ashura-ou had the same look on his face and says something, while you can't see the expression on taishakuten's face... and everything else afterwards...)
taishaku-ten : in order to get what I want, I will even alter the path of stars.
kendappa-ou (enters) : how scary.
taishaku-ten : is that you, kendappa-ou......
kendappa-ou (bows) : kendappa-ou has come by your summons, to serve you with my music. (smile, sits down) you must be thinking some horrible things again. you've said the same things before. (taishakuten has a slight smile)
taishaku-ten (flashback) : if even thousands of people die, or push anyone into hell, this tenkai is mine. those who disobey me, I will crush even the stars.
kendappa-ou (lightly) : you defeated the last emperor and rules over this tenkai, taishakuten-sama what else do you "want"?
taishaku-ten (looks down for a moment) : something my hands cannot grasp.
kendappa-ou (looks surprised) : [eh?]
taishaku-ten : play a song for me. I want to hear the best music in heaven which I got with these bloody hands that defeated of the last emperor.
kendappa-ou (starts playing) : I like strong people. you defeated the last emperor, and the so-called strongest guardian god ashura-ou. you are the supreme ruler of heaven. as long as you are stronger than anyone else, I will serve you. (when she said that last line, she had that scary/serious look again)
taishaku-ten (smiles slightly) : so you mean that if someone stronger than me appears, you will betray me?
kendappa-ou (starts cracking up) : what betrayal? you never trusted me from the beginning, right? you don't trust anyone. you don't need anyone. starting with the shitennou, even your most confident servant since the holy war, bishamonten. (her face covered in shadows) of course, that includes me...... even now, I still don't understand what you were fighting for, and what you will be fighting for.
taishaku-ten (leans back and kinda lost in thoughts again) : I have something I want to protect, even with my life. even if I have to crush the stars and destroy all living things with my hands, I will continue to protect it. ryu-ou (scary triangle eyes look) : shut up, kid!! (shara and souma starts to laugh, but shara stops as she sees yasha again)

(at zenmijou, the people are all gathered at the arena watching a fight between tenou and zouchouten. after many attacks, their swords finally lock and a big blast of energy breaks apart the arena stage, forcing people to cover themselves. a huge blast reaches the clouds, and when it clears, tenou and zouchouten has separated. tenou's cape knot has been broken and zouchouten's shirt is a bit messed up too, I'd say a tie.)
audience : as expected from the prince, he's so good at fighting too. only the shitennou can be his opponents now.

zouchouten : oh sorry. tenou-sama's sword is the real thing. as inherited from that blood, he truly is tentei's son. they don't look alike, but it's the same blood. (laughing... you know him ^^;;)

shara (sweatdrop) : ?
(meanwhile in the forest)
souma : what are your plans from now on? are we going to continue staying here?
yasha-ou : no. if we stay here, we'll cause trouble for that girl. if anything happened to that girl, ashura will be sad again.
ashura (flashback) : gigei died... yasha you knew that? you knew that!? (crying)
yasha-ou : I don't want him to think about those things again.
souma : yasha-ou......
voice (suddenly) : yasha-ou's really very considerate for his kid! (they look around the forest...)
kujaku (upside down head suddenly poke down from the trees) : BOO. (yasha-ou : no expression, souma : sweatdrops, kujaku : cute face) did I scare ya? did I scare ya? (smile with a sweatdrop at yasha's blank look)

kujaku (tried to lean on souma with a T.T face) : that oji-san *mister, usually for people older* is so scary-----! (note : how could kujaku used oji-san... he's much older... whoops... you didn't see this spoiler ^^;;)

kujaku (T.T on the side) : if ryu-ou's here, he'd play with me............
souma (sweatdrop) : [sorry]
kujaku : eh? speaking of which, where is ashura and ryu-ou?
souma (point to the house) : they're over there............
yasha-ou : what useful stuff?
kujaku : oji-san, you're so impatient. well, koumokuten's army is......
voice (behind them) : so you were hiding here, rebels! (souma and yasha turn around alarmed, kujaku has a cute "eh?" look)
katen aguni (with her army behind her) : tentei army, western general koumokuten's subordinate, one of the western goten, katen aguni!! (long title) I am here to defeat you rebels!
kujaku (still smiling) : ......is about to come, so I think you better start to get on the run. (yasha and souma ignored him and draws their weapons) they're hear already, ahahahahah------ (and of course he's not going to join the battle)
katen aguni : I am different than the people who humiliated us west goten, vaayu and varuna. you want to try? you're just my type. it's a big pitiful, but take their heads to the western general! (attack yasha with an energy blast)
yasha-ou (after blocking the blast, aguni is gone) : [disappeared!?] (turns around, aguni is above and behind him)
katen aguni : I'm so happy to fight with tenkai's strongest guardian, yasha-ou of the north!! a man who's so strong and with such good looks, I really anticipate the painful twisted expressions on your face. it's a rare opportunity, I'll try not to hurt your face when I kill you!! [hahahahah]
kujaku (meanwhile he looks like he's really having fun) : come on---- I already said I'm not related to them. so troublesome------ (dodging all of the spears aimed at him effortlessly)
souma (while you see kujaku jumping around in the background) : SOUGEPPA!!

(back in the house, ryu-ou and ashura see the fighting outside)
ashura : !
ryu-ou (jump out) : not good! pursuits!
shara (ashura's about to run out, but she pulls him back) : wait! no! it's dangerous!!
ashura : it'll be alright. shara. ashura made a promise, ...... to believe in yasha, to live for yasha, with yasha's only brother, rasetsu.
shara (shock) : [eh?] (ashura runs out) ra... setsu......?
(aguni and yasha are fighting, ryu-ou arrives on the scene)
ryu-ou : GRR! not again! looks like the pursuits are here! guess that's it------ (soldiers sneaking up behind him)
souma : ryu-ou!! watch it!
ryu-ou (suddenly turn around) : HAJA!! KAI--- RYUUHA-------! (blast everyone away, and regroups with souma) sorry to make you wait.
souma : ryu-ou!
katen aguni : you're strong. to be able to fight with such a strong opponent, I should really thank the dead vaayu and varuna. for leaving me the enjoyment of killing such a strong man! KAHATEI!! (huge blast) good bye, yasha-ou. hahah! !! (the blast clears away, and yasha's still standing) he dodged it, he dodged my kahatei... I'm really glad.
ashura (suddenly come running) : yasha----! yasha!
yasha-ou : don't come over!
katen aguni : golden eyes, pointy ears! that's ashura-ou's son! KILL HIM!
(but ashura has gotten stronger and blasts all the enemies away with his golden flame)
ashura : yasha! (but behind him...) !! (one more guy he didn't finish off)
yasha-ou & ryu-ou : ASHURA
souma : prince!
(but the soldier behind him suddenly gets killed and falls to the ground. a bird soars in the sky, and lands on someone's shoulder)
everyone : who's there!
the mysterious cloaked person : so we meet again. yasha-ou, ashura-ou's son.
(takes off her cloak...)

yukie's note : I know that I have kinda neglected rg veda for a while... but the thing is that I kinda had enough of FoR for a while, so I decided to do another vol of something else... just a funny thing that I found out, kujaku who is almost everybody's favorite... his seiyuu in the movies is the same guy who did...... gourry in slayers T.T
kujaku spoiler (I can't take this anymore... must write about his ^^) if you don't want to know about this, you can't just skip to the next part, the story contained in this part won't be revealed until volume 10.
- why he has purple eyes, actually he not only have purple eyes, but a third eye on his forehead as well. notice how perfectly his bangs cover it up right now... the mark of those who deems worse than the mazoku. he was the child of an incest relationship.
- why does he have black wings, same reason, he is also the legendary man who gave the yamatou to the yasha-clan ages ago
- why he has a prophecy staff, because his mother is the stargazer before kuyo, he inherited his mother's blood, and is actually the last prophet, not kuyo.
- why is he doing all this, as the last prophet, he sees the same vision as kuyo, but because of his own destined tragic life, he wants to see what it would be like if stars were moved from their orbits, that's all...
- who knows of his existence, actually, nobody... but taishakuten was able to recognize who he is...
- what incest relationship, the last tentei, who taishakuten killed, had a son with his sister... so in a way, kujaku kinda hates kisshoten, his half sister.

Volume 7 Section b : The Unheavenly Dream
(this is a side story about ashura-ou, I'm sure people are starting to wonder what really happened... and what's the big secret between ashura-ou and taishakuten and the events that happened, well, this story won't answer them, but gives you a little bit more insight... the real answer, as usual, will come in volume 10)
ashura-ou : [this place is......?]
(he's kinda in a dream dimension, and in front him is a sleeping grown-up version of ashura, or it could be ashura-ou himself, anyway, the real form of ashura who's bounded in roots and other weird stuff)
ashura-ou : ashura. [this is the place where my sin sleeps, the never awakening dream. that is my sin.] (looks down sadly) I am sorry. (touch the sleep ashura's face) even though I knew this would happen, even so, i...... (hugs ashura) forgive me.
(some night in zenmijou... the last kendappa-ou is playing her harp for the ex-tentei, with ashura-ou sitting by his side)
tentei : kendappa-ou's music is wonderful as usual.
kendappa-ou : you're over praising me.
ryu-ou (walking in) : I heard that your young daughter plays amazingly as well.
tentei (sees her) : oh...... you're here, ryu-ou.
ryu-ou : yeah. (kneels)
tentei : thank you for judging the fighting tournament.
ryu-ou : my pleasure.
kendappa-ou : I heard that all the winners are very young.
ryu-ou : yes, kendappa-ou. the winner is yasha-clan's prince, the second place is western guardian karura-ou's daughter. they both defeated adults and performed extremely well.
tentei : right now they're only a god clan in the north, but soon yasha-ou might become a guardian. oh, that's right. ryu-ou you should find a husband soon too and get a heir.
ryu-ou (sweatdrops) : tentei!!
tentei (laughing) : he'll be an amazingly strong guardian like you. right, ashura-ou?
ashura-ou (slightly smile) : as you say.
tentei (turns to talk to ryu-ou) : how's the kekkai on the west, ryu-ou?
ryu-ou : oh, right now it's.........
(but ashura-ou's lost in his thoughts, he sees flashes of the future, ryu-ou and souma fighting side by side)
ryu-ou : -----a group of the mazokus are especially active, but it'll be fine with just some extra caution--------
(flashes of karura-ou attacking by yasha-ou's side, and the last image he sees is of the grown up ashura and taishakuten... but his eyes suddenly open as he hears...)
tentei : as for taishakuten......
ryu-ou : raijin taishakuten...... you mean?
tentei : yes. he's done very well recently, I'm thinking about moving him up to a bushinshou. what do you think? ryu-ou.
ryu-ou (a little uncomfortable) : it's true, it's true that with his talent, there wouldn't be a problem making him bushinshou *guardian like herself* but......! I always have the feeling that he's going to do something to tentei. (flash of taishakuten fighting grown up ashura)
tentei (smile) : you think it's not so safe?

kuyo : ashura-ou. what's wrong, what's troubling you......?

kuyo (tears falling) : you're about to be married...... shouldn't come to these places anymore.
ashura-ou : kuyo......
kuyo (wiping away her tears) : y, yes.
ashura-ou (looking at his own reflection in a floating ball) : stars...... really cannot be changed......?
kuyo : ............ yes.
ashura : no matter whom?
kuyo : yes. stars are destiny. I can only read the path of stars and read destiny. stars move by the pattern of the world, and destiny is the same...... as stars are unable to leave their orbit, destiny in the same way cannot be changed. to change fate would be to disrupt the pattern of the world and will throw everything into chaos.
ashura-ou (sees flashes of himself fighting taishakuten) : do you think people who try to disrupt destiny are fools, kuyo?
kuyo : ......ashura-ou......
text (ashura-ou staring at the sky) : to disrupt the stars, to mislead the world, so I probably will become the sinner who betrayed the world. but... (remembers ashura) I want to save my child, for that wish...
yama (runs in, and breaks up the seriousness) : kuyo! (then sees ashura-ou) am I interrupting something?
kuyo : oh, yama, please come in. ashura-ou, this is yasha-ou's son yama, my little friend is going to be a bushinshou in the future.
yama : kuyo! (embarrassed, as kuyo giggles) it's the first time I've seen you up close, ashura-ou.
ashura-ou (a slight smile) : "yasha-ou of the north"...... huh?
yama : eh?
ashura-ou : what if...... your most important person in the world will only bring you trouble, what would you do? (flash of ashura running into yasha crying...)
yama : protect them. (firmly) with my hands, I will protect them with my life. (flash of yasha hugging ashura tightly)
ashura-ou : then for your important one, be strong. I hope you will be able to protect your destined one one day. "yasha-ou".
(later ashura-ou left kuyo's place... and runs into somebody else)
ashura-ou : taishakuten......
taishaku-ten : going back? ashura-ou. walking around without even a single guard...... you never know where some criminals might be hiding. (he sounds sarcastic... T.T)
ashura-ou : taishakuten...... do you...... think that destiny can be changed?
taishaku-ten (think a bit, and then with a very powerful, firm look) : to get what I want, I'll make even the stars move from their place.
(ashura-ou suddenly has a really relieved kinda smile, and walks away)
text : this is the dream of my wish. doesn't matter what kind of misfortune it will bring me. to disrupt the stars, to mislead the world. so I probably will become the sinner who betrayed heaven.
(finally, the scene in taishakuten's dream where he stabs his sword into ashura-ou... only you see his face here, and it's definitely not a victorious look, but rather sad... you can't tell what he's thinking kinda look)

shashi (background) : [it's not bad to be like mommy either.]
karura-ou (deep thought) : let me see, could it be because...... you don't have a tragic background story? such as having your sister kidnapped then killed... or have the corpse fed to the pet beasts...... or leave your homeland because of that.
ashura : but ashura's life story is full of troubles too!
karura-ou : [really?]
ashura : the moment I was born, daddy was kill, mommy betrayed us, whole clan was killed with no one left, I became a wanted criminal since I was a baby and brought me on to the first step to path of darkness. (hugging a dead tree T.T) and the cradle I had for 300 years was chopped up by yasha-ou with yamatou, what if he chopped me up too....... that was mentioned in volume 1 of this story. and all the friends I met along the journey all turned into stars! (look up in the sky T.T)
