nokoru : this place is the center of the campus. (there's a big pool up ahead)
sorata : hide inside this pool? [isn't this a bit of a joke? (sweatdrop)]
nokoru (to kamui) : would you put your hand on that thing?

(all the sky dragons look at the center of the pool with sweatdrops, it's marked by a little cute @.@ doll)

sorata : what is this thing?
arrow (pointing at the cute thingy) : this thing
nokoru : our school logo.
sorata (sweatdrop) : ...i like it but... isn't it a bit of a joke to make it the mark of the place that holds the holy sword?
nokoru : I think so too. (smile) [it was what the last administrator preferred] (to kamui) it only reacts to your finger prints.

(kamui walks up and puts his hand on the head of that thing and the pool's floor plates starts to rise, revealing stairs underneath.)

yuzuriha (wow) : l... looks like the base where robots shoot out from----. (meanwhile arashi looks like --.--;;)
nokoru : in here is what tokiko-san said, the place to hold the holy sword.

(they go in, a huge "secret base" look alike room, with a fancy podium in the center... the holy sword vibrates in kamui's hand)

kamui : [the holy sword...]
nokoru : this place is what the ex-administrator promised your mother tooru-san, the place to hold the holy sword.

(in the underground laboratory, the other holy sword is sending vibs like crazy)

scientists : what amazing vibrations! the instrument's gone this time!! (the whole tube explodes) WAH! (nataku walks up to the sword as the scientists scrabble in the background) short circuited, cut the power, the data!
nataku : you want to return? to "kamui"...

(meanwhile the sky dragons are in the room too and looking around)

sorata : this room's a collection of many "techniques".
nokoru : this place was built with the gathering of all existing supernatural knowledge. the train running in clamp academy going in a five pointed star is also a "technique" that protects this room. the train of this school only runs in a certain direction. and in a very slow speed. [just slightly faster than jogging]
arashi : using this room as the center, the transportation running in a five pointed star is a spell in itself.
nokoru : yes.
kamui : did that ex-administrator know my mother?
nokoru : I don't know the details. however... I heard that after this school was established we met your mother... and all the buildings that were being built were completely moved to what it is now.
kamui : then the ex-administrator...
nokoru : I wish I can introduce you to her... but she's retired and won't see anyone. plus the ex-administrator has a message for you. "nothing will change even if you meet me. you should go meet the other people you should meet." tokiko-san also has a message for you. she said that if you seal this sword here, the other sword's power will be sealed just the same.

nokoru : the holy sword can only be wielded by kamui. you can use its huge power... but the other kamui can do the same. we don't know what will happen when the other sword is in the other kamui's hands. therefore, tokiko-san said, "until the day that will come, seal it here until the day kamui really needs it."...
text : don't cry, this is my destiny, the destiny I have chosen.
sorata : so that's why tokiko-san said... "protect the holy sword".
arashi : until the day the holy sword is really needed, continue to protect it in this place...

(kamui looks up at subaru)

text : I will live to realize the future I wish for. I won't give up my own wish. because that person is "special"? (subaru looked back at him) therefore, you can choose too. for your wish alone.
subaru (flashback) : you don't care if people call you selfish?
text : ...i couldn't protect kotori... therefore...
subaru : you don't care if people blame you?
text : at least I want to protect fuuma.
subaru : [even if no one understands your "wish"]
text (kamui close his eyes) : I don't want to lose fuuma. I want to get fuuma back.
kamui (open eyes) : what should I do?

(the city is shaking again, this time, it's the underground lab.)

scientists : kya! contact the doujou president!
nataku (holds the holy sword, it shows him an image of fuuma) : to----... sama... (to the holy sword) you want to go to that man? (he takes the sword and leaves)
scientist (the woman) : nataku!? where are you going!? (he ignores her, meanwhile, the building is falling and he disappears in the smoke) NATAKU!!

(meanwhile, kamui puts the seal on the holy sword. the five points of the academy shoots out energy, and the sword is sealed)

fuuma (somewhere else in the city) : so the holy sword has been sealed. the last war over the fate of the earth has begun.

(meanwhile, kanoe meets hinoto again in her dream... by the way, I will comment on this later but... x wastes too much time with words... it's not like they're telling you anything new... just repeat what they've said over again.)

kanoe : finally the other kamui has awakened. before, one of my land dragons told me. (yuuto, she meant) there was a intruder in a sky dragon's kekkai. that could only be done by kamui. I knew there were two kamuis. no matter if the real kamui chooses the heaven or the earth, there must be a twin star born to fill in the open spot. kamui has chosen to be the seven seals, a sky dragon. therefore, the other kamui is mine.
hinoto : wrong...
kanoe : the land dragon, kamui of the seven angels will soon come to my side. (she seems very pleased)
hinoto : you're wrong, kanoe, you're wrong!
kanoe : I'm your only sister. though I don't have the power to see the future like you, I can spy on your dreams. (images of tokyo buried in sand, smile) kamui has come. your dream is correct. (she's fading) I will prove it.
hinoto (scream) : kanoe! it's no use to interfere with kamui! KANOE!! (she disappears smiling) kanoe...

(satsuki's inside the beast, it starts beeping)

yuuto (outside) : what's wrong? satsuki-chan.

(the computer scanned the building and the screen focuses on fuuma who's also carrying kakyou with him. the screen zooms in on fuuma and registers "KAMUI")

satsuki (taking off her headset, the screen repeatedly displays "kamui") : ...kamui.

(fuuma enters the room, kanoe's in her seat)

kanoe : "kamui". (stands up and hugs him) I've been waiting. kamui.

(meanwhile, in the academy, chains fly out from the five poles of the podium and ties up the holy sword)

sorata : well, what's next?
kamui : ...to parliament. to see hinoto. I want to ask her about my mother, and about myself.
nokoru : we will guard the holy sword in this school. (smile) until the day you really need this sword. take care.

(somewhere else in the city, kusanagi's standing under a tree playing with the birds)

kusanagi : seems like you're doing alright. (smile) I see. you like this tree too? (lets the birds go) hm? (he sees nataku who's jumping from building to building) ...my companion? seems like he's carrying something dangerous. (not exactly to nataku) wait for me. (he follows)

(seishirou approaches city hall)

seishirou (takes off sunglasses) : haven't been here in a long time. seems like it's become a dangerous place. especially "under". (puts sunglasses back on)

(in hinoto's dream, she's talking to kakyou)

hinoto : a dreamgazer... can see the future in dreams. they see the dreams of tomorrow...
kakyou : but they sacrifice everything of themselves. your eyes can't see, you can't hear anything, nor speak. and I can't even kill myself. ...unless I borrow kamui's power... you know the result of this war, just like me. however that future is not what you've wished for. therefore you gather the sky dragons in an attempt to resist the coming future. it has nothing to do with the "fate of the earth". (hinoto's crying again) it's only for your one wish. it's true that your sister has the power to spy on your dreams, but she can't see all of your dreams. she doesn't know about the one dream that you've been hiding.

(comment : I don't know why, but I feel that kakyou really looks down on hinoto... like she's pathetic, or low... or something like that, it's just the way he talks to her)

kakyou : kamui of the land dragons said, "the future has been decided." that young man named fuuma, we knew he was going to become a land dragon. and you... didn't do anything to stop him.
hinoto (crying, thinking how kamui was crying over kotori's death) : the dreamgazer cannot change the future they see... we can't do anything even though we see the dreams of the future... (a feather in kakyou's hand turns into kotori) this girl is...
kakyou : someone the sky dragon's kamui wanted to protect. and just as you and I foresaw, the first victim killed by the land dragon's kamui. she was born with the special gift of a dreamgazer, but she died before that power awakened.
kotori (kakyou replays the part when she died) : [...the future...has not... been decided yet...] (hinoto seems surprised)
kakyou : though she was an incomplete dreamgazer, the dream this girl saw the moment she died...
hinoto : you believe in this girl's dream?

kakyou : do you believe?

(meanwhile, yuuto and satsuki enters the room of kanoe)

yuuto : kanoe-san, satsuki-chan's beast showed that kamui's... (stops as he sees fuuma)
kanoe : kamui is here. (fuuma walks past yuuto)
yuuto : you're... (fuuma goes out and brings in kakyou, yuuto looks at him curiously, comparing his cold eyes to the last time he saw him) he's "different" from the last time we met.
kanoe : he is kamui of the land dragons, you who are land dragons just the same should know.
satsuki (monotonically) : my computer answered that he is kamui.
kanoe : and yuuto?
yuuto : true, there is some reaction inside me. (smile)

fuuma : one of the land dragons. and a dreamgazer. (of course he has to add that)
kanoe : a dreamgazer!? (shock) then this boy is...! (remembers that they've met once before) the dreamgazer who "passed through" nee-san's dream.

(suddenly the computer starts beeping, everyone turns, the wires plug themselves into satsuki)

satsuki : there are people coming heading for this place. three of them. (nataku, seishirou and kusanagi)
fuuma : land dragons. and, my "shinken" has come.

(under parliament, hinoto opens her eyes)

souhi : hime-sama.
hien : you don't look too good.
souhi : I'll bring you medicine.
hien : it'll just be a moment. (they leave and daisuke enters)
hinoto : what is it? saiki-dono?
daisuke : no... you seem tired. I wanted to tell you to rest...
hinoto : I'm a dreamgazer who sees the future in my sleep.
daisuke (seemed a little sad) : even resting is not really resting...
hinoto (smile) : my words troubled you. (daisuke blush) it's alright. are your injuries healed, saiki-dono.

(daisuke turns around, just as the door opens and kamui enters, all the other sky dragons are outside, kamui walks over directly to hinoto)

souhi & hien : kamui!! (probably thinks he's gonna do something to hinoto, but sorata holds them back)

hinoto : I too, have some things to tell you. (she gives kamui her hand, he pauses, and then puts his own hand in hers) everything is in the dream. (and kamui gets drawn into her dream)

(reality breaks apart like glass, kamui and hinoto are standing facing each other, between them in a miniture earth)

kamui : why did my mother die?

(hinoto doesn't answer but points to the earth, the view zooms into the earth, and they are in tokyo's togakushi temple. kamui's mother tooru and fuuma/kotori's mother saya were speaking outside.)

tooru : this is the last time. I won't say it again. saya, please leave togakushi.
saya : it's no use. because I've always known, since the time I met tooru, I was born for you, (smile) and I will die for you.
tooru : saya...
saya : when I understood that, I thought I was so happy. I still remember now back in high school, the day I first met you. and tooru?
tooru : how can I forget.
saya (smile) : great.

(inside was saya's husband taking care of the three kids.)

tooru : if you're not here, kotori-chan and fuuma-kun...

kamui (watching from the dream world) : that's... then, saya-san herself...
hinoto : shall we continue watching? you have an even more tragic past. but...
kamui : but, I want to know. (hinoto looks sad and points him to the room again)
kyougo (alone in the room with the sword) : this is the sword you gave birth to with your life. I will protect it until the day it is handed to kamui. I promise... (he walks out of the room, but young fuuma was watching him around the corner, he looked just like he was in a trance)
kamui : [fuuma!]

(fuuma enters the bloody room that kyougo left, tears are still streaming from saya's eyes, he walks over and picks up the broken off head...)

kamui : [fuuma?]

(fuuma's hand gets bloody from the head, he puts his hand to his mouth and licks the blood, kamui can't bear to look anymore)

kamui : FUUMA!!

(fuuma looks at his bloody hands and leaves the room)

hinoto : at the birth of the first holy sword, since that time, he has already begun the path to becoming the other kamui. he was in the same state as when you returned to tokyo. you should have had a chance to meet the other kamui.

(one side of kamui breaks the earth in his hand) and if you swear to protect those two... then you would wish for the earth that these two are living on to continue as well.
kamui : tell me... (he looked very sad) ...what if I forgot about them, I disappeared before them... if I wished to become a land dragon... then kotori wouldn't have died...

tooru (dying) : ...saya... (kamui was left alone standing in the ashes of his house)
kamui : ...what are you saying. the shadow of the earth...
hinoto : ... you know about the global warming situation of the earth?
kamui : my mother taught me... the temperature on earth is continuously rising...

(with the land dragons that surrounds fuuma and the sky dragons who surrounds kamui...)

yukie's note : just a note, but is it just me, or does clamp REALLY love to repeat everything ten times... no wonder this story is going sooooooo slowly... it's 2001 and it's not even close to the end... translating this just made me realize that everybody says the same thing over and over and over... and over... in fact, it's the same line... for example, the message that tokiko left with karen, what was that about? didn't she say that to kamui 10x already? what was the point of that? or kotori's death, hinoto tells you she's gonna die, and then kanoe tells you again she's gonna die, and then, kakyou tells you she's gonna die... finally kotori herself says that she's gonna die... come on!!! oh, excuse me, hinoto said she's gonna die TWICE. (ahem... I think I'm just getting annoyed that this is not going anywhere...)

(a girl standing in the middle of piles of trash, watching the crows feed on the rotten food, she was dirty and it was raining)

kaede : what are you looking at?

(a woman appears behind her and holds an umbrella over her)

young arashi (plainly) : I'm thinking, whether to eat it or not.
kaede : why are you hesitating?
young arashi : I'm thinking if there is meaning to live on by eating trash.
kaede : your name?
young arashi : arashi.
kaede : are you alone? your family?
young arashi : I had a mother, but she died. mother told me I mustn't die. even if she died, I have to live on. so I've been alive for three month now. I am alone, and I'm thinking if there is any purpose to live on like this. I want to keep to my mother's last words. but I think to live on alone is no different than being dead.
kaede (look at her sadly) : ...you should be seven years old this year. you're smart just like your mother. (smile) I'm here to pick you up, arashi. (hold out her hand) return with me to the ise jinguu.

(now in the temple, arashi's been washed up, dressed up nicely in a kimono, but still sits there quietly and expressionlessly)

women : kaede-sama, she took a bath obediently but...
kaede (look at the food untouched) : you don't want to eat?
young arashi : I haven't decided yet, to live or to die like this.
kaede : do you remember your mother?
young arashi : she's always afraid of something, she always hugs me and wouldn't take me anywhere... she's always worried that somebody is going to take me away so she didn't go out to work, and so we were poor. she was a gentle person.
kaede (sad) : your mother was a miko from this ise jinguu. seven years ago she fell in love with a college student who came here to do an educational study. she had you and left ise.
young arashi : why did she leave?
kaede : because you are destined to become a sky dragon.
young arashi (surprised) : ...sky dragon...?
kaede : ...arashi, to not touch anyone, to no understand anyone for your whole life is living like the dead. there's nothing more tragic than being alone. but, arashi, you will meet many people from now on. people who are friendly and people who have hostility, and someone who will love you. I have been always searching for you and your mother. I couldn't make it for your mother... but I'm really glad I've met you. (gently hugs arashi)
young arashi : maybe it's alright if I live?
kaede : I will be sad if you die.
young arashi (lets go) : sad?
kaede : yes.
young arashi : really?

(she hugs kaede and looks at the table full of food. she claps her hands together and...)
